If you’re regularly sending money to your families in the Philippines from London or another city in the UK, consider sending money thru the PNB Internet Remittance service.
The only requirements are:
1. You need to register first online with the PNB Europe Online Remittance service.
2. You need to send these documents to PNB Europe PLC:
— certified photocopy of passport or certified copy of UK driving license
— one proof of address: could be recent bank statement, utility bill or recent credit card statement

3. Remittance is easier if you have a debit card or a credit card issued in the UK,
or if you have an account with PNB Europe PLC.
To register, go to http://www.pnbeurope.com/. Wait for your application to be approved.

After registering a user name and a password for the PNB Online Remittance service, you’re ready to remit thru the Internet:
1. Go to www.pnbeurope.com.
2. Click Online Remittance.
3. Read the terms and click Accept.
4. Choose debit card or credit card.
For credit cards, a 2 percent service fee per transaction is charged.
For debit cards, there is no service fee, the service is FREE.
5. Choose your recipient.
6. Choose purpose of remittance.
7. Enter the Amount of remittance.
8. Click Remit Now.
9. Review remittance details, and click Confirm.
10. For credit cards or debit cards with 3D Secure features, you’ll be re-directed to your bank’s site to verify your transaction. View the confirmation from your bank, including your authorization code.
11. View the summary of your remittance transactions.
12. View your receipt.
How much is the Remittance Fee?
Rates as of February 2011 for online remittance:
All are in British pounds or Great Britain Pounds = GBP
- 1 to 1,000 pounds in remittance — 5.50 pounds in fee
- 1,001 to 2,000 — 7
- 2,001 to 4,000 — 12
- 4,001 to 6,000 — 15
- 6,001 to 8,000 — 20
- 8,001 to 10,000 — 25
- 10,001 to 50,000 — 30
- 50,001 and higher — additional fee of 10 pounds for every 10,000 pounds in excess of 50,000 pounds
PLUS:
additional fee of 3 pounds if door-to-door delivery to recipient in the Philippines
PLUS:
additional charges if you’re depositing to a U.S. dollar account in the Philippines
Additional fee ranges from 1.50 pounds to 10 pounds for remittances ranging from US$10
to US$4,999.
