Pag-ibig Fund — How to Claim Death Benefits

October 15, 2011 · Filed Under family, Pag-ibig

You can claim death benefits from Pag-ibig Fund only if you’re a legal heir or beneficiary of a Pag-ibig member who has died.

However, you can file a claim if you’re an authorized representative with a Special Power of Attorney (SPA), or a member’s court-appointed administrator or executor.

Pag-ibig death benefits consist of only two:

1. Provident Benefit. The amount of this is equal to the member’s Total Accumulated Values (TAV). TAV is the total of the following:

- all contributions made by the member
- all contributions made by the member’s employers for the member
- all dividends credited by Pag-ibig to the member’s account

Note: Salary loan balances or due housing loan amortizations will be deducted from the TAV.

2. Death benefit. The amount of this benefit depends on the TAV total and membership status at the time of death.

List of primary legal heirs or beneficiaries:

- Spouse (wife or husband)
- Children, whether legitimate, illegitimate, or legally adopted
- Parents of member

List of secondary legal heirs or beneficiaries:

- Grandparents of member (father’s side and mother’s side)
- Brothers and sisters of member

- Nephews and nieces of member
- Other nearest relatives

Note: For the distribution or sharing of benefits, the intestate succession rules contained in the New Family Code is followed.

Documents required to file a death benefit claim:

1. Application for Provident Benefits (APB) Claim (FPC010)
2. Death certificate of Pag-ibig member, issued by NSO or Certified True Copy by the Civil Registrar
3. Funeral receipt or payment certification from the funeral service provider
4. Notarized Proof of Surviving Legal Heirs (FPC011)
5. Notarized Affidavit of Guardianship (FPC012)
(if children are 18 years old and younger, or physically/mentally handicapped children)
6. Birth certificates of all children, issued by NSO, or Certified True Copy by the Civil
Registrar, or baptismal or confirmation certificates
7. Marriage certificate, issued by NSO, or Certified True Copy by the Civil Registrar, if
member is married
8. Birth certificate of member, if claimants are the parents or siblings
9. Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR), issued by NSO, if member is single
10. Two valid ID cards of claimant
11. Other documents required by Pag-ibig Fund upon filing of claim

Valid IDs: passport, driver’s license, voter’s ID, postal ID, SSS card, company ID, PRC ID, GSIS e-Card, AFP ID, IBP ID, OWWA ID, OFW ID, and SIRB seaman’s ID.

You can download the required Pag-ibig claim forms from the following:

Application for Provident Benefits Claim

Proof of Surviving Legal Heirs

Affidavit of Guardianship

Where to file your claim:

File your Provident benefit claim at the Pag-ibig Fund branch where the Pag-ibig member or employer has remitted the most or latest contributions. If the member had multiple employers, check if the member’s contributions are already consolidated in the branch where you are filing.

Note: Pag-ibig Fund says DO NOT HIRE a THIRD PARTY to follow-up your claim.

If the legal heirs or beneficiaries are unable to file the Pag-ibig Fund Death Benefit themselves, the claim can be filed by their authorized representative, their appointed court administrator or executor.

Any authorized representative is required to present a Special Power of Attorney (SPA) (Use Pag-ibig Fund SPA Form FCP014), his or her valid IDs, and the valid IDs of the member and beneficiaries.

  2. Nors on February 12th, 2013 6:10 pm

Hi Aphol, continue gathering your papers. Most civil claims have a prescription period of 10 years. For SSS EC, you can claim within 3 years. About GSIS, I’m not very familiar with their benefit programs; there could be plans there that have shorter prescription periods, so to be sure, do your best to submit your claim within the next few months.

  3. Linell Malimbag on February 18th, 2013 2:15 pm

My late husband Dionisio T Malimbag Jr worked with Colgate Palmolive Philippines before. I cannot find his PAGIBIG ID or any number for him. May I know , how will I know if he has applied for PAG IBIG membership before and had paid his ocntributions?

  4. Nors on February 18th, 2013 8:08 pm

Hi Linell, you can go to Pag-ibig Buendia, with your ID, marriage certificate and your husband’s death certificate (orig and xerox) and inquire about your late husband’s contributions. Pag-ibig became mandatory, so he must have paid his contributions.

I just want to verify if the burial claim and contribution of Danilo G. Ragandan Sr. died sept. 11, 2011 already released? If yes how much, when and may I Know the name of the receipient. thank you.

  6. Nors on February 23rd, 2013 3:41 pm

Hi Eloisa, sori I’m not an employee of Pag-ibig. I just write about Pag-ibig. The legal beneficiaries are spouse, children, and parents and siblings (if no spouse, no children and no parents) and nearest relatives (if no siblings).

Good day,my father inlaw was in service in airforce since 1971 till 1984 but he is awol.he died nov 22 2010..what benefits he can get thru pagibig or gsis?

  8. Nors on February 25th, 2013 7:02 am

Hi Cesar, I suggest the best thing to do is to for your wife to go to GSIS, PAF, and AFPSLAI, or to the nearest branches/offices, together with her IDs, her birth certificate, her father’s death certificate (orig and xerox) to ask how she can file her claims. There she will know what the benefits are. You can also visit the websites of these agencies; the benefits are described. At PAF, she should ask which Pag-ibig branch is PAF submitting their contributions, so she can go and make inquiries there, as Pagibig records are not centralized.

Husband of a Friend of mine Died Last Feb. 26, 2013 and he has a housing loan. What will my friend will do to claim for the property and other claims from Pag-Ibig. Also, the mother and brother of the Husband is still alive, can they also claim for the housing property? They also have 2 minor children

  10. Nors on March 2nd, 2013 10:49 pm

Hi Cel, in the Surviving Heirs form, the name of the mother should be written, and I think she shares in the Provident benefits (total contributions plus dividends). The brother does not share (does not have a claim) because the member has a spouse and children.
About the house, I’m not sure about this, but it’s communal property, so it should go to the wife and the children. Your friend should go to the branch where the housing loan was filed and to the branch where the contributions were remitted and make inquiries. Initial documents to bring: her IDs, NSO death certificate, marriage certificate and birth certificates of children (xerox and original), funeral receipt (orig and copy). Pag-ibig forms include affidavit of guardianship for minor children and proof of surviving legal heirs.

my mom died last march 2008, ask ko lng po sana if i can still claim for death benefits. hindi ko na kasi ma locate ang father ko and she is married to him.. how was that po.? thanks

  13. Nors on March 5th, 2013 2:28 pm

Hi aian, yes, you and your siblings (if you have) can file a claim, but Pag-ibig will require a waiver from your father. Your grandparents also share in the claim if they’re still alive. Try your best to locate your father. You can go to Pag-ibig with your IDs, birth certificate and death certificate (xerox and orig), and ask for initial estimate of benefit, so you can evaluate if it’s worth it to spend to locate your father, or to spend for documents.

  14. Florence on March 9th, 2013 3:05 pm

My father died last July 2011, my mom asked me to file claims from pagibig as he was a member. Should i file separate claims for both provident and death benefits? Thanks.

  15. Nors on March 10th, 2013 1:21 pm

Hi Florence, provident and death benefits are combined in 1 claim. Look at this form, death benefit is in the lower portion of the form:

When my husband became disable, nakaclaim sya ng provident benefits sa Pag ibig last 2011. When he died last August 4, 2012, I went to Pag ibig office and inquire if he is still entitle to death benefits, sagot po nila na wala na raw. But my friend told me na separate and provident at death benefits. Shall i go back to pag ibig and file the death his death benefits?

  18. Nors on March 12th, 2013 3:07 pm

Hi Magdalena, sad to say… but when your husband got his provident benefits in 2011, he got all his savings plus dividends, and there was nothing left with Pag-ibig; so his membership stopped in 2011. In short, he was no longer a Pag-ibig member when he passed away.
Under Pag-ibig, only those that have not claimed their benefits will have their families get death benefits when they pass away.
If it can be a consolation, Pag-ibig’s maximum death benefit is 6k, far lower than that of SSS.

ask ko po sna id no. mr. ko kc he died last feb.21 and im going to file for death claims tnks

  20. Nors on March 13th, 2013 3:44 pm

Hi venus, you can get this number by registering your husband online, but I think it’s better if you just bring the documents that you have to Pag-ibig. I think they’ll be considerate in finding the number for you because yours is a death claim.

  21. mayang on March 14th, 2013 8:46 am

hi there…my father is a government employee and he’s retired question now is,can we claim death benefit?just like sss?

  22. Nors on March 14th, 2013 1:10 pm

Hi mayang, has your father received his Pag-ibig benefits already? If your father has already claimed all his Pag-ibig benefits (savings plus dividends), his beneficiaries can no longer claim death benefit. Why? because his membership was terminated when he claimed all his savings plus dividends. It’s not the same as SSS.

  24. Nors on March 23rd, 2013 4:31 pm

Hi lyka, can range from 1 month to several months, depending on whether member’s records are in order or in 1 branch or in many branches and on Pag-ibig work load.

question lang po father died year 2000 can i still get his death benefits..thank you

  26. Nors on March 25th, 2013 10:46 pm

Hi decena, that’s more than 10 years ago. Ten years is the usual prescription period for civil matters. But I’m not sure about Pag-ibig. You should go to Pag-ibig and ask if you can file your claim. Bring your IDs and death certificate of your father and your birth certificate.

  27. Ernie Javier on March 26th, 2013 6:49 pm

Thanks in advance.

  28. Nors on March 27th, 2013 1:26 pm

Hi Ernie, do you mean you’re the beneficiary of a Pag-ibig member who died? And that you’ve submitted the member’s death certificate and funeral receipt? Pag-ibig calls that as death benefit, and it is already included in the benefits you received. Check your papers — it should be Provident benefits + death benefit = Total benefits. Death benefit is 6k if Provident benefits is 6k or more.

  29. Maribel on March 28th, 2013 9:31 pm

My uncle died last week and he was buried last Saturday.

He was only able to make contributions to PAGIBIG for less than 20 years (maybe 10 years lang or less). He lost his job when he joined a labor union rally years ago.

How can his family get benefits?

    Maraming salamat.

  30. Nors on March 29th, 2013 8:39 am

Hi Maribel, his family should prepare the required documents — listed above, from No. 1 to 10. If his children are no longer minors, no need to submit No.5. If he’s married and has children, no need to submit No. 8 and No. 9. You can get the Pag-ibig forms from Pag-ibig, or you can download from the links above, and print them. Submit at the Pag-ibig branch where your uncle’s records are — usually the branch nearest where he worked.
If he worked in different companies in different cities, you inquire in other Pag-ibig branches if he has contributions there. If there are contributions in other branches, his family should accomplish a consolidation of contributions at your uncle’s main branch.

  32. Nors on March 31st, 2013 11:16 pm

Hi reham, yes, the mortgage redemption insurance of the deceased borrower will pay his loan balance in full, and the title of the house will be given to his family (the legal beneficiaries). But your neighbors are correct; you first need to pay your arrears. It is best for some of you to go to Pag-ibig Housing and ask about what you can do. Bring IDs and copy of the death certificate. The member’s Provident benefits can be used to pay part of the arrears, or all of the arrears if enough.

  35. Nors on April 1st, 2013 6:28 pm

Hi Albert, is this property not yet foreclosed? Have you received legal foreclosure papers? If it’s not yet foreclosed, you can pay for the arrears, so you can claim. You can use your uncle’s Provident benefits to pay part of your arrears. If the arrears are paid, the mortgage redemption insurance will pay for the loan balance, and your grandparents can have the title to the property. The rightful claimants are the parents, but you can inquire on their behalf. Have them write an authorization letter for you to make inquiries at Pag-ibig; bring your IDs, your grandparents’ IDs and your uncle’s death certificate (xerox and original)

  36. Nors on April 2nd, 2013 10:30 am

Hi lovely, yes, if the child is younger than 21 years old, SSS will give all the accumulated pensions for the months since your sister’s death, plus the current pensions. Complete the papers asap so SSS can process the claim. About Pag-ibig, the list of documents required are in the article above. Your sister’s Pag-ibig savings continue to earn dividends if they’re not yet claimed. You are given time to collect documents, but file your claim not later than 10 years after date of death.

Hi Eve, sorry, the death and funeral benefits are for members only, meaning benefits are given to the beneficiaries of members who passed away.

Hello, how is a pagibig check make payable to if there are 3 beneficiaries including a spouse. Also, how long does it take to wait for the first sss payment. The person died in Nov. 2012 and all the requirements been filed in Dec. 2012. Thanks.

  41. Nors on April 5th, 2013 9:19 am

Hi Ver, are the other beneficiaries the parents? I’m not sure if Pag-ibig considers the wife and parents as 2 parties, so there will be 2 checks with equal amounts. But if Pag-ibig considers the spouse and the parents as equal beneficiaries, there will only be one check and the names of the 3 beneficiaries are all written as Payees on the check. If the beneficiaries are a spouse and children, I think it’s one check also.
About SSS, the speed of processing depends on the SSS current work load and backlog and on whether the records of the SSS member are already in order. Did SSS give you a estimated date of first pension? Follow up if this date is already past.

  42. angel on April 5th, 2013 4:23 pm

hi mam, my common law husband past away last feb. he only work for a month as a sales clerk last 2008.. so he only had 1 contribution in SSS and Hdmf as I seen in his pay slip before, I got the funeral claims in SSS.. but not the death claims.. one of the employee told me that I can also get death claims in Sss but its only a lumpsum..we have a son he is 6yrs question is how much will I get for the death claims if he only have 1month contribution?how they compute it? and for the pag ibig contribution, am I entitled to get also for the death claims even if its only have 1 month contribution?and how much is it mam?tnx..

  43. Nors on April 6th, 2013 10:12 am

Hi angel, for the SSS benefit, your son can get a lump sum of 12k, but please DO NOT rely on my answer, I could be wrong. I just based my estimate on their rule about the primary beneficiary of a member with less than 36 monthly contributions — it says 12 x the monthly pension, and the lowest pension is 1k. For Pag-ibig, how much did he pay? 100 pesos? If the employer also paid 100 pesos, then the total would be 200 pesos. You will get this 200 pesos plus dividends and a death benefit equal to 200 plus dividends; perhaps around 500 to 600 pesos in all. Pag-ibig is also different in the way that they include the member’s parents as benefiaries, so your child will share the benefits with the parents. So when claiming Pag-ibig, check what you will spend for the documents, your time and fares; it might not be worth claiming. But again, ask others too. by the way, you write well. best regards

  45. Nors on April 8th, 2013 7:44 am

Hi Dennis, the documents required are listed in the article above. Did your mother work at the CSC in Diliman, QC? Then you can start by going to Pag-ibig Kamias branch along Edsa in Diliman, and ask if your mother’s records are there in that branch. Bring your mother’s birth certificate including a xerox copy, your ID and your birth certificate (to show your relationship and your authority to make inquiries). By the way, did your mother get her Pag-ibig Provident benefits before she passed away? Because if she already got all her benefits, her beneficiaries can no longer claim. But anyway, you go to Pag-ibig and ask. You need to be sure.

    gud Day Mam,

  48. Nors on April 12th, 2013 5:37 pm

Hi Albert, I suggest you go over the papers of your uncle. Can you find there notices from Pag-ibig? There should be warnings, collection letters and demand letters from Pag-ibig before foreclosure. He should have received foreclosure papers and notices from the regional trial court. Did you go to the Foreclosure Department of Pag-ibig? or to the Acquired Asset division to ask about your property? Do you have his last receipts so you can check when really was his last payment? Did you ask how you can redeem the property? About your claim for Pag-ibig benefits, you can bring papers that you have — see list above — and then present them, and listen to what they say. But what I know is that the matter about the house should be resolved first before you can get the Pag-ibig provident benefits.

  49. Nors on April 12th, 2013 8:39 pm

Hi edgar, sorry, the beneficiaries can no longer file a claim because the member stopped being a member when he got all his money from Pag-ibig before he died. Ask others too.

Hi nors thank you for the quick response. but i don’t think my nakuha na xa sa pag ibig kc after she retired nag stay na xa sa province namin. so ask ko lang po ano ano ang mga information an dapat kung alamin pag punta ko sa pag ibig? ask ko narin about sa GSIS nya if hindi ma approved ang survivorship nya sa father ko my chance ba kami ng kuya ko makakuha ng benefits nya?were already over age so panu ung mga benefits nya?thank you.

  51. Nors on April 14th, 2013 7:00 am

Hi Dennis, bring the documents that you have (xerox and orig) including your IDs and your birth certificate and ask for a copy of your mother’s total contributions and dividends and a list of documents for filing a claim for death and provident benefits. Please check also my previous response. Ask your father about your mother’s employment history including dates so you know. Was the CSC her only employer?
About GSIS, sorry I’m not very familiar with GSIS, but I checked a bit, and I think your father should get the survivorship benefits because he is the legal spouse and the primary beneficiary, whether he is currently employed or not. Check the GSIS website to see other benefits.

We had his funeral claim already..He worked from 2008-april 2011 and filed for this death claim last December 26, 2012, but until now, we haven’t received check from SSS.When do you think we’ll be able to received this claim?thank you. God bless

  53. Albert Reyes on April 16th, 2013 2:51 pm

  54. Nors on April 17th, 2013 9:14 am

Hi Albert, when persons come to your house, ask for documents that they’ve really purchased that house. Tell that person you’re in the process of redeeming the property. No, you cannot complete the purchase of a house including the paperwork in 1 week. I suggest you go to the Foreclosure department at the Pag-ibig branch along Shaw Boulevard and ask how you can redeem the house. 14th Floor, JELP Building, 409 Addition Hills, Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City. I’m puzzled that the foreclosure was so fast. Where is this property located? I can’t find a list of acquired assets in Metro Manila on the Pag-ibig website — only in provinces.

  56. Nors on April 17th, 2013 1:49 pm

Hi sherryl, sad to say, Pag-ibig does not yet have an online system for accepting claims. What you can do is get a SPA to authorize someone to file your claim. Special Power of Attorney (SPA) Prepare all documents before your rep goes to Aklan so your rep doesn’t have to make extra trips

Hi geralyn, yes, even if you’re married, you can share in your father’s Pag-ibig benefits. But the primary beneficiary is your mother. Your grandparents may share also. Their names need to be written on the list-of-heirs form.

Hi jonalyn, did your father work in many companies? Did he pay even when Pag-ibig was made optional from 1986 to 1994? Did he leave an unpaid loan? Also, Pag-ibig records are not centralized; companies remit to the branch nearest their locations. So if he worked in different companies in different cities, I hope the contributions were consolidated. You can go back to Pag-ibig and ask to see the computation, so you can see the records. Bring your ID, your birth certificate, and your father’s papers.

Hi annabel, did your father get his Provident benefits before he passed away? If not yet, you can file your claim. Check the requirements in the article above.

Thanks! And Godbless!

  64. Nors on April 26th, 2013 9:11 pm

Hi Cherry, what’s the valid ID that you have? If it’s not a postal ID, then you can get a postal ID. Get first a barangay clearance — ask if they’re giving a postal ID application form at the barangay so they can fill up the notarization section of the form so you don’t have to pay for notarization. Some post offices charge about 400 to 500 pesos for the postal ID — ewan bakit mahal.
If your barangay clearance is the one with computerized document with your web-cam-captured photo, you can use this as an ID. Other valid IDs are NBI clearance and police clearance.

  65. RR on April 27th, 2013 1:48 pm

hello, ask ko lang po kung pwede pa namin maclaim yung death benefits from pag-ibig fund ng father ko kahit na matagal na po syang wala, he passed away last 2005 and hindi po namin naayos ung death benefits sa pag-ibig fund at ilan years po ba ang dapat na contribution ng pag-ibig member? thanks!

    best regards,

  66. Nors on April 27th, 2013 9:25 pm

Hi RR, yes, you can still file your claim. Even if your father contributed only for a few years, you can claim his benefits. It’s not pension, it’s lump sum, so there’s no minimum no. of years of contributions. You have until 2015 to file your claim (within 10 years from date of death), but file as soon as you gather the documents. Make sure you write all the companies where your father worked, including dates and addresses, so Pag-ibig can trace all his contributions. best regards

  69. Nors on May 8th, 2013 1:01 pm

Hi chris, sorry, hindi na. Not the same with SSS. Ask others too.

Hi! Ask ko lang about s housing loan. Im the principal borrower, secondary borrower yung husband ko that past away this april.

  71. Nors on May 9th, 2013 6:44 am

Hi Shirlx, based on Pag-ibig circular 310, yes, the portion of your husband in your housing loan will be paid for by mortgage redemption insurance (MRI), so your monthly amortization amount will decrease. The amount of loan that will be erased will depend on your husband’s loan entitlement. You can go to your Pag-ibig branch or to the housing department along Shaw Blvd. (JELP Bldg.) with your Pag-ibig housing papers, including your IDs, your husband’s death certificate (have clear xerox copies of all) and ask how you will process your claim. I hope you can share later on your experiences here.

Hi! I would like to know if I could claim a Provident and Death benefits for my dad who died last Dec 19, 2009 in Tarlac but buried in Zamboanga del Sur. Cam I claim the said benefits in Manila since I am here working? We are nine in the family, hence,do I need to get NSO birth cert of all the children? My mom died recently and so do I need too to submit a marriage contract? ALso,I am unsure if we still have funeral parlor receipts kepts since he died 4 years ago. Please do advice. Thanks.

  76. Nors on May 29th, 2013 12:23 pm

Hi Lilibeth, what I know is you should file your claim at the Pag-ibig branch where your father’s records are, since Pag-ibig’s records are not yet centralized. But you can go to Pag-ibig Manila to ask about documents, since you’re nine siblings and you might have to spend some money to gather documents. You can also ask about how they issue benefit checks and how to use waivers from your siblings…because if they issue one check in the name of nine persons, then it’s going to be a problem encashing the check. Funeral receipt is included in the list of requirements — ask them if you can make an affidavit of loss of the receipt and that you can no longer get a replacement receipt from the funeral home.

  77. Nors on May 29th, 2013 1:17 pm

Hi Nardz, processing time varies from 1 month to more than a year, depending on how the member’s SSS records are in order/not in order, or if there are missing employer contributions.

  78. Lilibeth S. Lumapas on May 31st, 2013 12:39 pm

Thank you for the advices you gave. However, can I just request for transfer of my father’s record/files in Manila particularly here in Makati Branch? His records are in Pagadian City.

  79. Nors on May 31st, 2013 4:38 pm

Hi Lilibeth, sorry I’m not very sure if they transfer records per beneficiary’s request, especially as your father does not have some records in Makati or Manila to justify a consolidation here. What they have currently is for a member to request for a transfer of his records from other branches to his latest branch or where he has the most contributions. There’s this form: Transfer of Records Please call or email Pag-ibig about records transfer.

  81. Nors on June 1st, 2013 3:46 pm

Sorry I cannot compute total benefits because I don’t have the data. Meron ding 6k na death benefit. Pres Cory declared Pag-ibig optional (hindi mandatory) from Dec 1986 to June 1994; baka nag-optional ang mother at company niya noon. Pero kulang pa rin. Baka hindi ring nag-Pag-ibig agad yong company niya. Pag-ibig was made mandatory starting 1981.

  82. riches on June 4th, 2013 6:06 pm

Good Day!

You will list all your father’s employers and dates of employment. To consolidate records, you will use the Request for Transfer of Records form

  89. Nors on June 24th, 2013 10:28 am

Hi virgilio, did your aunt get her Pag-ibig savings plus dividends when she retired? If she already got all her savings, there’s no more 6k death benefit for her beneficiaries, kasi hindi na siya member after she got all her savings (different from SSS). If you’re not sure, you can ask her previous school which Pag-ibig branch were their teachers’ contributed remitted to, so you can make inquiries at that branch.

Hi Nors, just want to know kung magkano ang makukuha namin for the provident and death claim of my mother-in-law. She was a pag-ibig member for 7 years and we don’t even know how much is her monthly contribution. Can you make a sample computation for us kase hindi namin naitanong kung magkano ung estimated total of benefits na makukuha namin the last time we went to pag-ibig office. And also, they need 2valid ids of my brother in-law and my husband, is police clearance and accepted? Thanks in advance, hope to get your answer ASAP.. God Bless!

  92. Nors on June 28th, 2013 9:33 am

Hi maricel, I think you need to complete first the process in claiming your house before you claim your death benefit, kasi ang death benefit hindi binibigay kung merong existing housing loan. Co-borrower ka ba sa housing loan? You need to continue paying your share of the housing loan if you are a co-borrower kasi ang icocover lang ng mortgage redemption insurance (MRI) ay yong share ng husband mo. But if your husband was the sole borrower, your house will be paid fully by MRI, and you can start the process of claiming the title of your house. You can visit Pag-ibig Cebu and ask the process and requirements. Or you can also email Pag-ibig, with Subject: Housing Loan No., husband’s name, and notify them that your husband has passed away, and that you will file your claim as soon as you complete your work/mission in Cebu (ito ay para lang alam nila ang reason bakit hindi ka na nagbabayad ng amortization).

  93. maricel jaque on June 28th, 2013 1:42 pm

  94. Nors on June 29th, 2013 10:03 am

Hi maricel, when you file your Provident claim, they will check your husband’s records and they will see your housing loan, and they should instruct you to file your claim for your house.

  95. mary jane on July 3rd, 2013 9:09 pm

  96. mary jane on July 3rd, 2013 9:12 pm

  97. Nors on July 5th, 2013 8:10 am

Hi mary jane, yes, Pag-ibig and SSS are different entities. You can claim your father’s Pag-ibig death benefits; walang pakialam ang SSS. Or hindi pa maraming years na delinquent? Kung slightly delinquent naman, pababayaran ng SSS sa inyo yong kulang at babayaran ng MRI yong the rest, so you can claim the house.
Pero kung highly delinquent ang housing loan, at pumunta na sa unaffordable level ang outstanding balance, makiusap kayo sa SSS kung anong remedy for you. Ask them if they have a Sale or Assumption of Mortgage program. Pag existing ang housing loan, what you can get immediately is the funeral benefit only. The lumpsum or pension will be put on hold because of the existing housing loan.

Good Evening po, my husband died this year.. About sa Pagibig ay di po ako sure sa beneficiaries nya if kasama ako kc di kami nagkaron ng time ma update yun nung nabubuhay pa sya, if sakali ay magulang nya ang beneficiary nya.. Legal wife po ako and ask ko lng if anong claims ang pwede kong makuha and if sakaling wala ako sa beneficiary ay meron pa rin ba akong rights to claim and may macclaim pa rin ba ang beneficiary nya if sakali?? Thank you so much..

  99. Nors on July 7th, 2013 8:51 am

Hi Nicka, yes, you are a legal claimant, along with his parents, and your children, if you have, kahit hindi kayo nakasulat sa beneficiary record niya. Sa SSS, ikaw lang ang beneficiary of the death benefit — the legal spouse and your children. Pero sa SSS funeral benefit, the one who can claim this is the one who paid for the funeral expenses.
This is one of the Pag-ibig forms — Surviving Legal Heirs This is the main claim form: Pag-ibig Benefits Claim

  100. Nicka on July 7th, 2013 2:44 pm

Thank You so much..

  101. Nors on July 8th, 2013 9:10 am

Hi Nicka, sorry I don’t now if they will split up the check. Based on other people’s experiences, if the beneficiaries are magkakapatid, isang check lang for all. Pag 2 children (one legitimate and the other is illegitimate), 2 checks. Siguro 2 checks sa inyo. Tanungin mo na lang pag-submit ng claim. Baka puedeng ikuwento mo rito later on kung paano hinati ang check. thanks and regards.

  102. Majoy on July 8th, 2013 4:12 pm

HI good afternoon, my brother died last June, he had a wife and 3 children, at the time he died he is unemployed but when i check to pag-ibig he had a contribution and his employer remit in Caloocan city branch, his wife ask me to claim for the death benefits of my brother because the wife is in the province and can’t go to Caloocan just to claim.. is it possible if I’m the one who will claim the death benefits ? if yes what are the requirement? Thanks for the help

  103. Nors on July 8th, 2013 9:40 pm

Hi Majoy, yes, you can claim in behalf of your sis-in-law, but you need a Special Power of Attorney. You can use the Pag-ibig form for SPA. If your brother worked in other companies in another city, it’s also wise to ask the Pag-ibig branch there if your brother has contributions there, then request for consolidation of contributions. The list of required documents are in the list above.

  104. Tonette on July 12th, 2013 3:30 pm

How do you compute for the total claims and dividends if an OFW made contributions of $20 each month for period Jul2004-Jun2006? Contributing stopped as he has completed 2 years of payment. ? This year, 2013, he was told that he can no longer use this for any loan because of what reason, he was not told. However, the Pag-ibig staff said he can still make a claim but the accumulated interest of the amount will only be until 2012. Will the exchange rate of USD to PHP during the years 2004-2006 be used? At that time it was $1 = PHP56.

  105. Nors on July 13th, 2013 7:13 pm

Hi Tonette, since this OFW you’re asking about started his POP in July 2004 (Circular 319), he’ll receive his total savings in PHP at current rate. The average dividend rate is 5%, so I think his dividends over the years will more than offset the drop in exchange rate. About the issue of POP no longer used for housing loan — this is because P1 has become mandatory for OFWs. It’s P1 that’s used for housing loan. He can register for P1 if he wants a housing loan.

  107. Nors on July 24th, 2013 12:09 pm

Hi maricel, sabi naman sa rules nila (nasa benefit claim form), ibabawas yong arrears sa Provident benefits, so okay lang na hindi na bayaran, kasi nakapag-pass na kayo ng requirements for your claim, at baka kasi pina-process na yong claim ninyo. Pero you can still go to your Pag-ibig branch and ask if you can still pay your 2-month arrears. By the way, when you say 2-month arrears ay 2 months na hindi nabayaran bago namatay ang borrower?

  108. jean mae darlyn banate on July 25th, 2013 10:13 am

  109. Nors on July 25th, 2013 2:13 pm

Requirements: NSO death certificate, NSO birth certificate, Funeral receipt, Notarized proof of surviving legal heirs (form from Pag-ibig), Application for Provident Benefits Claim (form from Pag-ibig), Certificate of no marriage from NSO (if single), 2 valid IDs ninyo.

One time lang naman siguro ang pagpunta mo sa Caloocan branch if your documents are complete. So check the requirements, as listed in the main death benefit claim form

  119. Nors on August 3rd, 2013 9:51 am

If you’re not sure, you can go to the Pag-ibig branch nearest where they worked and ask. 123. Nors on August 4th, 2013 12:18 am

Bring your IDs, death certificate, birth certificates.

Hi Cielo, yes, your father was an SSS member. But I have doubts now because the 10-year prescription period for claims is over. But you can ask SSS, there might be exceptions. You can go to the nearest SSS branch with your ID, birth certificate, your father’s death certificate (if you have) and ask about your father’s death benefits

We have an existing housing loan of which I am the principal borrower as suggested by the developer since I have a higher income and would have a higher chance of approval. We are both PAGIBIG member. I filed and claimed disability benefits for him last year only even if he got sick in 2010. Can I still claim other benefits like for death and burial? Is there any discount for the loan relative to its insurance? My husband signed under Marital Consent but the title (TCT) is under Sps category. Thank you and more power.

  127. Nors on August 17th, 2013 11:02 pm

Hi Bettina, sad to say, if you have claimed his provident benefits last year due to total disability, then you already got all his savings, so there’s no more death benefit to claim. This benefit is only up to 6k. Pag-ibig has no burial benefit.
If your husband was a co-borrower (he submitted income and personal info papers), your housing loan can be reduced by the % of his contribution to the required income in the loan application. But to be sure, because I might have missed some things, visit Pag-ibig para sure.

  129. maricel jaque on August 19th, 2013 10:18 am

Last april 2013 po yong last kaming nagbayad ng amortization. Thanks pp

  130. Nors on August 19th, 2013 10:18 am

  131. Arvin Sala on August 19th, 2013 7:25 pm

  132. Nors on August 21st, 2013 6:46 pm

But you can still email Pag-ibig (put in the subject To: name of department emailing you these amortization letters and name of in-charge kung meron; then title or first line ng email is Name of your husband, Housing Loan account No. and “Death and MRI Claim Filed”. Sabihin mo lang na nai-file mo na yong mga documents required at the Pag-ibig ____branch on ___ to claim your Pag-ibig benefits, to process your MRI and to claim your property title.

  133. Nors on August 21st, 2013 7:55 pm

You can call Pag-ibig 724-4244 or go to Pag-ibig and present the death certificate and your proof of relationship (birth cert) and ID and ask how you can claim your benefits. Prepare a valid reason for not claiming on time; example, you were too young then, and you didn’t know there’s something to claim.

Bring your ID, death certificate and marriage certificate (orig and xerox) and ask your husband’s total savings amount and a list of requirements for claiming, including claim forms.

  141. Nors on August 27th, 2013 6:46 pm

Wrong spelling of name? Kung walang birth certificate, ito ang sabi ng Pag-ibig (nakasulat ito sa likod ng claim form): NSO Certified True Copy of Non-Availability of Birth Record of Member together with any of the ff: Notarized Joint Affidavit of Two Disinterested Persons (Form HOP-PFF-029), or Copy of 2 valid ID cards or any document indicating member’s date of birth

  142. Nors on August 27th, 2013 11:05 pm

It takes about 2 months or more, based sa mga nagco-comment dito.

I am an OFW currently on vacation here in the Philippines and will be leaving soon, my mother already passed away, my father is still with us, we are three siblings, the death claim and provident benefit claim is just being processed,my question is/ are… do all 3 siblings need to sign on the “proof of surviving legal heirs” form in order to get the claims? Thanks in advance.

    Good day,

My name is Lynn T. Sinon, tatay ko po ay member ng Pag-ibig. nag retire po siya sa kanyang trabaho when he was 59 years old. pero 33 years po yung length of service niya.

  145. Nors on August 28th, 2013 11:14 pm

Hi Lynn, makukuha nio ang Provident benefits niya plus death benefit kung hindi pa niya kinuha ang savings niya when he retired. Puede ring kasing kunin ang Pag-ibig benefits kahit hindi pa 60 years old kung magpresent ng formal retirement from company’s retirement fund. Para sure, punta na lang kayo sa Pag-ibig branch niya with his death certificate, your ID and your birth certificate to make inquiries.

  146. Nors on August 29th, 2013 12:05 am

Hi Darwin, yes, because that’s Pag-ibig’s policy, unlike sa SSS na spouse and minor children lang ang beneficiary. Submit also your birth cert. If you’re going abroad, ask if you can attach your waiver of rights to the claim so your father and siblings can encash the check even without your physical presence. Thanks for appreciating my blog.

  147. jem on September 5th, 2013 1:41 pm

  148. Nors on September 5th, 2013 10:36 pm

  150. pat on September 6th, 2013 10:08 am

I’m sorry for the date, that was November 26, 2011.

  151. Nors on September 6th, 2013 10:16 am

Pumunta na kayo ngayon with your father’s death certificate and your birth certificate and your IDs. If your father were updated before in paying, or kung hindi naman grabeng matagal ang delinquency niya noon, mahahabol nio pa ang house using his housing loan’s mortgage redemption insurance (MRI). The insurance will pay the loan balance in full so you can claim the title. Yong arrears niya before he passed away, yon ang babayaran ninyo, then the balance after he passed away will be paid by MRI.

  152. pat on September 6th, 2013 10:21 am

Kung meron po siyang balance before he died?

    similar affidavit ——miscellaneous/joint-affidavit-of-two-disinterest-persons
Doon sa baba ng Affiant, write SSS ID nos. kung meron sila, or cedula nos., or driver’s license nos. or other valid ID nos.

Hi nors! Good am. It was just recently that I discover your blog and I find it very helpful and informative, and by exploring your blog saka ko nlaman na may death benefit din pala ang pagibig member. Ask ko lang sana if may chance pa kya makakuha yung mother in law ko ng death claim ng husband nya? He died last january 2009, the problem is hindi nila alam yung pagibig # nya at siguro ang last contribution nya was way back 1999 pa and wala nman silang natatandaang may nailoan sya. Do u think may makukuha pa sila? Thank you in advance and more powers.

  161. yza on September 14th, 2013 12:50 am

One more thing.. I hope you could give us advice kung paano sila maguumpisa ng process, marami din kasi yung napasukang company ng father in law ko. Thank you once again and god bless.

  162. Nors on September 14th, 2013 6:11 am

Hi yza, did your father-in-law not file his benefit claim when he retired? Did not his family file any claim after he passed away in 2009? I’m asking because the provident benefit (savings) and death claim are processed together, and if the savings were already claimed, the death benefit can no longer be claimed.
But if the provident benefit was not yet claimed, your mother-in-law can file her claim. She can start by writing her husband’s employment history (name of company, address, and employment dates), and by going to the Pag-ibig branch nearest where her husband worked the longest, with her ID, marriage cert, death certificate, and employment history and ask.

  163. jam on September 14th, 2013 11:46 am

Hi! My in-law died last month I believe he had 3 months contributions to Pag-ibig. Entitled ba beneficiaries niya sa death claim at magkano kaya makukuha? Thank u.

  164. Nors on September 14th, 2013 6:33 pm

Hi jam, was he an employee? If yes, then maybe his total contribution is 3 x 200 pesos = 600 pesos. When was this contributed? Years ago? So there must be some interest. Death benefit is 600 pesos plus interest. Death benefit is 6k if total savings is more than 6k. If lower, it’s the same as total savings plus interest. So all in all, about 1200 pesos ang benefit niya. Pero estimate ko lang ito ha. To be sure, you can ask the Pag-ibig branch where his contributions were filed.

  165. rhea on October 6th, 2013 10:19 pm

  166. Nors on October 7th, 2013 4:44 am

Hi rhea, hindi nio pa ba nakukuha yong savings ng father nio from Pag-ibig? Or hindi niya ba nakuha lahat when he was still alive? It’s not like SSS na funeral benefit is separate. If your father or his beneficiaries did not claim his savings before, then you can file for Provident benefits which include the death benefit up to 6k, depending on total savings.

A Policeman, member of GSIS, Pag-ibig died with natural cause. Less than a year his wife pass-away. Do his wife entitle for funeral benefits>? How much?

    Thank you.

  170. Nors on October 13th, 2013 11:58 pm

Hi laspua, savings program ang Pag-ibig, so kung magkano ang total savings ng member in 20 years, ito ang makukuha niya plus total dividends earned over 20 years. Example: 200 pesos x 12 months x 20 years = 48k plus dividends over the years.

  171. Nors on October 14th, 2013 12:26 am

  174. Nors on October 15th, 2013 8:00 am

Hi margie, sorry this blog is not owned by Pag-ibig, so I don’t have access to Pag-ibig’s member data. If your father did not claim his Pag-ibig savings when he retired, you have something to claim and you can file your claim as one of his beneficiaries. Ask your father’s former office which Pag-ibig branch they’re remitting Pag-ibig contributions, then visit that branch with your IDs, your father’s death certificate and your birth certificate, and ask about your father’s records and claim forms.

Hi laspua, do you mean benefits from Pag-ibig? 1. Salary or housing loan while being a member 2. At age 45 or 60, a member receives total savings plus dividends. 3. Up to 6k death benefit if member dies without having claimed savings before passing away. 4. Wala nang ibang benefits

  178. Nors on October 25th, 2013 3:53 pm

Hi irmacarlos, you can claim for burial if you or your brother had not yet claimed his Provident benefits or his savings and dividends. Pag-ibig started as an optional program in 1978 and became mandatory for all employers in 1981. You can start by going to the Pag-ibig branch nearest the company where he worked first or where he worked the longest. Bring your ID, death cert and your birth cert (to show your relationship) and list of employers and addresses and employment dates (so Pag-ibig can trace his contributions). Provident and burial benefits are computed together, and not separate; this means pag nakuha na ang Provident benefits noon, wala nang burial benefit to claim.

  185. Nora on November 22nd, 2013 6:28 am

Punta ka sa Pag-ibig branch where you filed your loan and ask with your ID, marriage cert, husband’s death cert and housing loan no. Kung meron kang medical document about his disability, dalhin mo rin, and ask how you can save your house. If in Metro Manila, you can go to the Pag-ibig housing sa JELP Building, 409 Addition Hills. In the meantime while you’re working out your papers, kung merong pumupunta diyan na hindi from Pag-ibig at nagtatanung-tanong about your address at mukhang bibili, sabihin niong house ninyo yan at hindi for sale.

thanks po madame. waiting for your reply.

  188. Nora on November 24th, 2013 6:35 am

  189. Nora on November 24th, 2013 6:56 am

Hi yam, basta meron kang NSO marriage certificate where it shows that you are the wife, ikaw ang main claimant. If the housing loan papers mention the wife’s name, puedeng mag-request ka ng death certificate of the first wife from NSO, baka lang magtanong yong sa housing department.
Doon sa claim mo for provident benefits (savings and death benefit na up to 6k lang), merong document na Proof of Surviving Legal Heirs, wherein isusulat mo ang mga children. So siempre isusulat mo rin yong mga first family’s children. Kung hindi na sila kasali sa claim, magpapirma ka ng Affidavit of Waiver of Rights to the Pag-ibig Benefits from them. Kung makikishare sila, magbibigay sila each ng NSO birth certificate. Ask Pag-ibig din para accurate.

  190. Anne on November 26th, 2013 4:41 pm

namatay po yung byenan ko last december un mga documents nya nsa pangalawang asawa nya pwede pb mgclaim yung first family nya dahil hindi p nakapagclaim yung pangalawa
pwede pakicheck kung may makukuha sya

  191. Nora on November 27th, 2013 6:34 am

Hi Anne, dapat isang claim lang ang i-file, except lang kung ayaw maki-cooperate yong isang party, so Pag-ibig will decide how to process the claims. Legal ba ang second spouse? If yes, ang claimants ay the legal spouse, the children of the legal spouse and the children of the first spouse. If the second spouse is not legal, the beneficiaries are the first spouse (legal), children of the first spouse and children of the second spouse. Even the parents of the person who died are also claimants. Here’s the form to list all the beneficiaries:
Puedeng icheck with Pag-ibig kung magkano ang makukuha kasi minsan, gagasto sa docs pero konti lang pala ang makukuha. Bring death certificate, birth cert or marriage cert and IDs so Pag-ibig will entertain your inquiry.

Namatay po sister ko last nov 27 2013, she has 2 kids minors pa she is a single parent.

  193. Nora on December 5th, 2013 9:48 am

Hi lyn, yes, you can process your sister’s papers. Bring your ID, your birth cert and your sister’s birth cert to prove your relationship. They might also require you to present your sister’s not-married cert from NSO to prove that she was not married (hahanapin nasaan ang husband). You can also get an authorization letter from your father authorizing you to process all papers since he’s already old and your sister’s children are still minors. So you will know what docs and how many docs you will get from NSO or the local registrar, at para isang lakad lang sa NSO, list all the documents required by Pag-ibig, SSS and any insurance that your sister had. Ito yong main claim form sa Pag-ibig:

  194. mich on December 6th, 2013 7:32 pm

  195. Nora on December 8th, 2013 10:00 pm

Yong mother mo ang main claimant/beneficiary, pero bring your birth cert and ID, your father’s death cert and your mother’s authorization letter so you have the authority to inquire with Pag-ibig.

  196. Helen Sabio on December 9th, 2013 9:11 pm

  197. Nora on December 10th, 2013 7:59 am

Hi Helen, usually hindi nila natutupad yong 1-month time frame nila.

  198. Helen Sabio on December 11th, 2013 9:32 pm

    GOD BLESS !!

good morning, ask ko lang po if possible pa po na makakuha ng death benefit ng brother ko, he died 2008 pa po. please reply, thanks

  200. Nora on December 13th, 2013 4:33 pm

  202. pedro cedric legaspi on December 15th, 2013 9:49 am

  203. Nora on December 15th, 2013 12:01 pm

Hi pedro, nagtataka rin ako sa policy ng Pag-ibig about this. Dapat tularan nila ang SSS in terms of defining heirs. Ang suggestion ko is you go to your spouse’s Pag-ibig branch with your ID, marriage cert and wife’s death cert and this filled-up form: and then verify your wife’s accumulated savings and dividends (para malaman mo if the amount is worth claiming, considering you have co-claimants. Add 6k, which is the death benefit amount). And then ask Pag-ibig if you will share your wife’s benefits with your wife’s 7 siblings. And how is the sharing. Equally divided by 8 ba? Ask also if they will issue only one check with 8 names on the same check; siempre ang hirap i-encash ang ganong check. If divided by 8, and the amount for each is still significant, the best way is to approach someone who’s broadminded among the 7 women in-laws, and tell her the benefit. Ask them to give to you all the documents needed so they can share. Sana kung merong trust among all of you, one way to save on documents is for them to sign a waiver of the right to share in the benefit, pero in reality, bibigyan mo pa rin sila.
Lastly, I don’t know the reasons behind your unfriendly relationships with your in-laws, pero look deep in your heart if you can work out something so that all of you can benefit.
If you have time, would you please comment here again if Pag-ibig decides that you share your benefit equally with your wife’s 7 siblings? Thanks

  207. pedro cedric legaspi on December 17th, 2013 2:18 pm

  208. Nora on December 18th, 2013 1:25 pm

Hi May, puedeng ikaw pero dapat meron kang Special Power of Attorney.
Pero bago ka mag-umpisa, punta ka muna sa Pag-ibig branch ng pinsan mo with your ID, copy of her husband’s ID and authorization from him to inquire at Pag-ibig (via email na lang muna para cheaper at paprint mo) para manghingi ng claim forms and list of requirements and if you still need to present SPA.

  209. Kim on December 26th, 2013 3:51 pm

Hi, my dad died january of 2008 we have not made any claims from pag ibig.. However my mom is hesitant to fix the papers because she wasn’t sure if dad’s contribution was only months or a year., kung sandali lng sya nakapagcontribute can we still file for benefits plus we’re not sure pa where his last contribution was made.. How dow e know kung sang branch? Thanks.. :)

  210. Nora on December 26th, 2013 8:45 pm

Hi Kim, your mom can inquire about your father’s total savings/dividends before filing a claim. She needs to present her ID, your father’s death certificate and their marriage cert. She inquires at the Pag-ibig branch located near the company where your father worked. If the total savings/dividends is more than 6k, there’s an additional death benefit of 6k. If total savings/dividends is less than 6k, the death benefit is equal to the total savings/dividends.

  211. Nora on December 27th, 2013 6:31 pm

  213. Nora on January 9th, 2014 1:51 pm

Hi xandhy, nasa article ang list of requirements. Usually, we have 10 years to file our claims, pero subukan mo. Ito yong main claim form:

  214. Cathy on January 30th, 2014 2:25 am

Ang tatat ko ay ka reretired Lang this last august 2013 at kasalukuyan syang naglskskad Ng kanyang retirement papers pero da kasawiang palad nagkasakit siya at namatay just this week January 25,2014..may makukuha kaya siya Ng death claim at retirement fee from them?ang papers niya ay nakasubmit na yon before suya nagkasakit at namatay.thnx please reply me soon if u have time.ty

  215. Nora on January 30th, 2014 3:10 pm

Your mother will then go to Pag-ibig with marriage cert and death cert and her ID to request Pag-ibig to reissue the check to her. Kung hindi pa na-process ang claim, puedeng tanungin kung puedeng ire-file ang claim para mahabol yong death benefit, which is 6k (if your father’s total savings is at least 6k).

  216. lourdes Malaki-De Mesa on January 31st, 2014 2:44 am

hi, my father died last june 2000, can we still apply for death claim.
    thank you

  217. Nora on January 31st, 2014 7:54 am

Hi lourdes, merong 10 years na prescription period for claims. List your father’s employers, addresses and employment dates. Then punta ka with your IDs, birth cert and your father’s death cert sa Pag-ibig branchn nearest the company where your father worked the longest.

  218. Ian Manila on February 5th, 2014 7:36 pm

    good day.

my father died last november 2, 2013 and until now, we have not yet claimed his pag-ibig death fund. i have just read some of the information on how to get it and honestly i have just known today that such thing exist.

i have some question and i hope that i can have some valuable answers from you.

1st is my father have worked on several companies, he have worked abroad also for almost 20 years. so now my question is, how can we determine if where to put a claim on his death fund?

2nd is how can we get his Application for Provident Benefits (APB) Claim (FPC010?

thank you and i do hope for your quick response.
    have a blessed day again.

  219. Nora on February 6th, 2014 2:25 pm

Hi Ian, you can download the main claim form and the other forms here: — Scroll down to Claims. You can also visit the Pag-ibig branch nearest the company where your father worked the longest, and ask for claim forms. If he worked in different companies in different cities, you need to consolidate his contributions first. Check the Transfer of Contributions form.
If he contributed to Pag-ibig while abroad, visit Pag-ibig Makati (Buendia or Gil Puyat) and inquire if your father contributed to P1, POP and MP2. Bring your IDs, your birth cert (to prove you’re the son), and your father’s death cert (orig and xerox).
Check the OWWA dates in your father’s most recent OEC receipt; you might be able to file a benefit claim at OWWA in Pasay. Nag-file na siguro kayo ng death and funeral claims sa SSS if he worked in private companies? or GSIS if he worked in government?

  220. robert esponilla on February 12th, 2014 2:27 pm

  221. Nora on February 12th, 2014 3:55 pm

It’s possible din na Pag-ibig will require you to submit the death certs of your parents in law, pero we hope hindi na sana, at sufficient na yong isusulat mo sa form na deceased na sila.
By the way, sa SSS, kung hindi ka pa nag-file ng claim, in addition to your pension, your child can get a pension if he’s under 21 and if your spouse had paid at least 36 contributions.

  222. Majal on February 18th, 2014 9:33 pm

I just want to know regarding my mom;s Pag-ibig provident claim. I just found out that my dad and mom were not officially married. CENOMAR proves it. Pag ibig personnel is asking for my grandmother’s and grandfather’s death certificates and even birth certificates because legally speaking nga she is Single. My grandparents died long time ago and their birth certificates, I’m sure can no longer be found. What would be my next move if I can’t get these certificates?

  223. Nora on February 19th, 2014 10:20 am

Hi Majal, I think your mother’s birth cert will prove her relationship with your grandparents, and your grandparents’ death certs will prove that your grandparents are already dead, so they can no longer claim, and therefore their birth certs should no longer be required. If Pag-ibig still requires your grandparents’ birth cert (pero bakit pa? hindi na sana kasi additional gasto), ito ang nasa instruction nila sa claim form: NSO Certified True Copy of Non-Availability of Birth Record and Notarized Joint Affidavit of Two (2) Disinterested Persons

hi good pm! pwede po ba ma claim ng mother ko ung death benefit ng father ko. 15 years na po sya patay? thank you

  226. Nora on February 20th, 2014 10:20 pm

If your papa worked as an employee in the Phils before he went abroad, malamang meron ding siyang contributions sa Pag-ibig branch nearest his former company. I-consolidate muna ang mga records from 2 or more branches before filing the claim para ma-claim lahat, kasi hindi centralized sa isang lugar ang records ng Pag-ibig.
Kung nakabayad ang papa mo ng OEC niya for his last contract year, you can claim benefits sa OWWA Pasay.

  227. jheramie joy lorica on February 22nd, 2014 3:26 pm

  228. Nora on February 22nd, 2014 10:57 pm

Hi jheramie, do you mean meron kayong stepfather? Ikinasal ba sila? If not married, kayo lang mga anak ang beneficiaries. If they were married, your stepfather and you, the children, will share the benefits. Are you not in good relations with him? Do you think he will exclude you from the claim? If he does not want to share, puede kayong magpunta sa Pag-ibig branch ng mother ninyo and ask how you can file your own claim kung ang co-claimant ay hindi kayo isinama.
