Na-extend na to 24 months ang chance for BDO Kabayan account owners to remit from abroad to their Kabayan accounts para ma-maintain ang Kabayan status ng account.
Kaya huwag mong sayangin ang effort mo na nag-open ng account. Mag-remit ka from abroad to your Kabayan account at least once in 24 months.

BDO Kabayan account OFW

Kelan nag-start itong changes? In October 1, 2018

Pede bang pang-maintain ang deposit over-the-counter or online transfer from another bank account?

Hindi. Dapat remittance from abroad to the Kabayan account. Foreign remittance. Dapat padala mula sa ibang bansa.

Applicable ba ang new rules sa lahat ng BDO Kabayan accounts?

Applicable lang sa mga ito:

  1. Active BDO Kabayan accounts as of October 1, 2018
  2. BDO Kabayan accounts opened in 2018 with at least one foreign remittance
  3. BDO Kabayan accounts opened on or after October 1, 2018

Again, what is the maintaining requirement for a BDO Kabayan account after October 1, 2018?

You need to make at least one remittance from abroad every 24 months to your Kabayan account.

What happens if my BDO Kabayan account has no foreign remittance after 24 months?

After 24 months have passed and your Kabayan account has not received any remittance from abroad, your Kabayan account will be converted into a REGULAR atm savings account.  This regular account requires a monthly average daily balance of 2,000 pesos.

If your Kabayan account has been converted, and you are not able to maintain the 2,000-peso maintaining balance for two consecutive months (2 months na magkasunod), your account will automatically have a deduction of 300 pesos at the last business day of the 2nd month, and then every month thereafter that your account is below the 2k maintaining-balance requirement.

Puedeng maubos ang balance mo kung hindi mo mawidro ang natitirang balance o kung hindi mo ma-restore ang account mo to the 2k monthly average daily balance agad.
