More than 154,000 SSS retiree pensioners have received their SSS pension adjustments as of June 2016, according to the SSS. Total of adjustments released was 7.21 billion pesos. These adjustments arose from the system upgrade in 1986 that affected the posting of 1985 to 1989 member contributions.
For SSS death pensioners or survivor pensioners and disability pensioners, you can expect your adjustments by December 2016.
For all types of SSS pensioners whose pensions were processed prior to May 24, 1997, you can expect your adjustments in June 2017.
SSS have advised SSS pensioners that they will process all adjustments for all pensioners who qualify for the adjustments, regardless of whether the pensioner filed an adjustment request or not.
Pero kahit meron silang sinabing ganito, puede pa rin that you file your letter of request for adjustment, or you can go to the nearest SSS with your IDs and ask. If you’re a representative, bring your IDs, the IDs of the SSS pensioner and an authorization letter from the SSS pensioner.

According to SSS, the average back payment per pensioner was 51,883 pesos while the average monthly adjustment per pensioner was 515 pesos.
Not all SSS pensioners received adjustments or will receive adjustments. Those whose pensions were correctly computed or those who did not have at least 6 monthly contributions within a year from 1985 to 1989 will not receive adjustments.

Hi Victor, malamang na wala silang makita sa records nila. Kaya ang request nila, mag-submit yong member ng copies of SSS contributions from their employers, na usually hindi na magawa kasi matagal na o wala na sa files ng employer. Sad talaga na ganoon ang situation. Mag-file ka na lang uli ng letter, telling them na missing yong 1988 at 1989.

Hi Nina, kung natanggal ang fallopian tubes mo dahil sa gynecological disease, puedeng maka-avail ng Magna Carta leave benefit, pero kung ang pagtanggal is due to pregnancy, ang alam ko ay hindi qualified for Magna Carta. Hi ging, first time ko kasi maka-encounter ng ganyang case na namatay na yong claimant ng retirement benefit, so I’m not sure about it. Pero I know na dapat ma-claim nio yon, kasi dapat napunta sa father nio yon when he was alive. Try niyong mag-file ng claim asap. Bring IDs, father’s death cert, your mother’s marriage cert, current pension voucher ng mother mo para ma-entertain kayo. Ask nio ang ang mga forms and requirements para ma-claim nio yong pension ng father nio na hindi nia nakuha when he was alive kasi hindi siya nakapag-file when he was alive.

Hi ging, yon bang death claim na sinasabi mo ay yong funeral benefit? Yong nag-submit kayo ng funeral receipts? Plus yong lump sum na equal to your mother’s pension for the first 18 months? O nag-pension agad ang mother mo? Kung hindi nakuha ng nanay nio yong 9 years worth of pension, puede kayong magpunta sa SSS at magtanong ng mga requirements para ma-claim yon. Pati na yong sa adjustment. Bring your IDs, marriage cert, and death cert and your birth cert (if you’re the one asking).

About sa 9 years na dapat pension ng father nio: kung ang pension ng mother nio ay from your father’s membership, wala ba siyang nakuhang lump sum noong una from those 9 years? Hi Eloisa, ang alam ko tapos na ang adjustments for 1985-1989 para sa lahat na qualified, pero puede pa rin kayong pumunta sa nearest SSS with your IDs. Magdala na kayo ng letter (puedeng handwritten but clear) requesting for pension adjustment due to the 1985-1989 adjustments. Include name of pensioner (your mother), address, pension amount, date when pension started. Name of member (your father), SSS number, date of death, employment history (years worked and names of companies).

Hi wilfredo, ang minimum pension is 1,200, so ibig sabihin merong nadagdag na 250 sa pension mo. Puedeng galing ito sa more than 120 contributions mo or higher monthly salary credit. I suggest na mag-request ka muna ng recomputation of your pension. You can write a letter addressed to SSS requesting them to recompute your pension. Photocopy your letter. Then pumunta ka sa SSS branch with your ID and pension voucher at irequest mo sa officer-on-duty na paki-check niya yong pension mo, kung bakit 1,450 lang. Sabihin mo nagsulat ka na rin ng letter for recomputation kung kelangan. Kung hindi masagot agad at kukunin yong letter mo, pa-stamp mo yong kopya mo para meron kang gagamitin pang-follow-up.

Hi Marites, yes, it’s possible that your mom can get an adjustment. SSS is still processing the adjustments of survivor pensioners. You can visit the nearest SSS with your IDs and authorization letter from your mom and ask the SSS officer about this.
