Did you make advance payments using the old table of SSS contributions?
If you made advance payments for the years 2019 and 2020 and later years using the old table, you should compute the amounts of discrepancies, and then make additional payments at the SSS branch.
What happens if I do not make additional payments?
SSS will post your contributions as payments for the applicable lower salary credit.
BUT those who paid in advance 110 per month and OFWs who paid in advance 550 per month, they must make the additional payments, or else their advance payments will be put on hold and will not be posted. Why so? Because there is no salary credit lower than 1,000 or no contribution lower than 110.
For OFWs who paid in advance their minimum, 550 per month, SSS will also put these payments on hold, because 8,000 is now the lowest monthly salary credit for OFWs.
What is the difference between SALARY RANGE and SALARY CREDIT?
Salary Range refers to your actual gross monthly salary. It’s here in this Salary Range column where you look for the salary range that covers the total amount of compensation you received for the month.
Salary Credit is the amount used by SSS to compute your salary loan amount, sickness benefit amount, maternity benefit amount and pension amount. There are 37 monthly salary credits, beginning from 2,000 pesos and increasing in increments of 500 pesos up to the maximum of 20,000 pesos, as of the latest SSS contribution table, effective April 2019.

Hi Grecelyn, nasa iyo yong self-employed form mo na approved by SSS? If approved by SSS (merong SSS stamp at signature), puede namang mag-change ka ng amount (kahit ilang changes basta below 55 years old) na hindi ka na kelangang mag-file ng form, based sa circular 2015-007. Self-employed muna ang icheck mo, then kapag meron ka nang Date of Coverage, puede ka nang mag-Voluntary, if you like.
Hi, Grecelyn gregorio

Kasi ang semester of delivery mo is July to December, so ang titingnan ng SSS ay kung meron kang at least 3 monthly payments within July 2017 to June 2018. Kung considered ang claim mo, notify SSS, then after delivery, submit your claim. Processing time is from one month to 2 months or more.
Hi maam nora, expected delivery date ko po is december, magkano po per quarter mababayaran ko?kailan po ma kukuha ang benefits pag nka hulog na?samalat in advance.
Hi shymae, kelan ka manganganak? Puede kang mag-contribute starting this quarter (June July August) as Voluntary member. Para accurate yong sagot ko, I need to know your expected delivery date.
If you have contributed at least 72 monthly contributions, you can borrow 10k pesos. Sorry na it’s too small, so it might be better na huwag na lang mag-loan muna. Online application? Yes, puede sa online SSS account mo.
hello po gud day s inyo,
Hi Grace, yong father mo ay puede mong iparegister as self-employed. Sometimes interview lang, okay na; yong iba, they require proof of source of income like commission receipts, or business permit, or barangay certificate, etc.
Good afternoon po.
if salary is less than 1,000 pesos because of emergency absenes. ano po and sss contribution? wala na po sa chart.
Hi Gracy, I checked the SSS law at walang nakalagay don na hindi eligible ang employee as SSS member kung less than 1k ang monthly salary. I-report pa rin sa SSS yong employee, pero walang contribution kasi sa contribution table, ang lowest range is 1,000 to 1249.99. Sa SSS law, ang merong sinabing less than 1k is yong sa househelper. Ang nakalagay na hindi considered employee ay yong casual employee — whose work is not related to the business. Another condition for compulsory SSS coverage: should not be more than 60 years old.
Hi Mrs Nora, Good day po. Just want to ask po if there is a certain law or sss regulation regarding sa hindi pagiging eligible ng employee or working individual whose income is less than 1000 to be an sss member?thanks in advance..
O dpt b dito alo magbayad from abroad?
Advise your cousin to enroll online. This is how to enroll in online SSS.
Hi Ms Nora! My cousin is an ofw and im the one she asked for paying her quarterly contribution. Is it also possible for me to ask a copy of her contribution fr the branch where im paying the contribution? Thanks

Good day Ms.Nora. I just want to ask, what will now happen if in this year, my mother wasn’t able to pay her contributions in April, may, june. she applied as self employed with 550 peso contribution per month. what is the effect if she will claim benefits or pension? she’s 49 years old. Thank you and God bless
Hi Jim, kung in your 20s or 30s ka pa, puede namang 550 pesos lang muna, kasi wala namang income. Puede ngang mas lower pa, kasi you’re paying as Voluntary. The new SSS circular about contributions stated that a member younger than 55 can change contributions any time by any number of levels. Of course, employees can’t change their contributions because employers are mandated to compute according to SSS rules.
I said 550 or lower kasi ang basis naman ng pension computation is the last 60 monthly contributions prior to retirement, so you have still years ahead of you to contribute the maximum. Ang basis naman ng sickness benefit is yong 6 highest contributions within 12 months prior to semester of confinement.
But if you’re 55 or older na, at wala ka pang 120 contributions, try to pay the maximum. If meron nang 120, at medyo kulang sa budget, huwag na lang munang magbayad ng 550 kung hindi kaya yong 1760, kasi paying 550 within the last-60-month period will just lower your average monthly salary credit.
As a ofw seaman po mam, pag onboard po nagbabayad kmi ng maximum dun po sa contribution, ang tanong ko lang po kung nasa bakasyon po kmi same din po ba kung voluntary magbabayad kmi monthly contribution namin kc po 3 months to 4 months bgo po ulit kami umalis?
Thanks…
Tataas pa ang monthly contributions at salary credits mo in the next years to come, so estimate lang ang ma-compute natin ngayon. What SSS will compute will be your last 60 monthly contributions prior to your semester of retirement. Let’s say na lang na yong last 60 contributions mo ay 1,550 each, so ang average monthly salary credit mo will be 14k. Meron ka nang around 14 years of contributions. Let’s say na you will be able to contribute 20 years. Ang pension mo (average salary credit is 14k and total no. of years is 20) will be 5,900.
Ang gawin mo is enroll in SSS online m then pag naka-enrol ka na, comment again here and I’ll guide you how to check your pension computation online.
Dapat merong 6 contributions within the 12-month period prior to your semester of delivery para 6 contributions ang ma-count. Kung 3 contributions lang, 3,000 lang benefit mo. Take care
Hi po. Would just like to ask if much will be the orugh estimation for my sss maternity benefit. I used to work but not anymore. So from employed to voluntary member po ako..for the past 12months e 330 nlg po nbbyad ko..mgkanu kaya mkkuha ko? Slamat
Hi Ma’am Nora
Would like to ask, my mother is paying as a voluntary / self employed
But she forgot to pay her monthly for the past 3 months, since she went to province (province is in an island, no banks, nor establishments) Can she pay her contribution and have it applied to the paid 3 months? Thank you
Hi Dhian, sorry, pero hindi ka pa puedeng mag-loan kasi ang requirement ng SSS bago first loan is nakapag-contribute ng 36 monthly contributions. At halimbawa lang, meron ka nang 36 contributions, dahil ang salary credit ng 550 is 5,000 pesos, ang malo-loan mo lang is 5,000 pesos. Sa Pag-ibig, kung mas malaki ang ipon mo doon, mas malaki ang amount ng malo-loan kasi 60% to 80% of total savings ang pinapa-loan doon. At puede nang mag-loan after 24 contributions.
Hi mrs Nora gusto ko sana malaman Kong magkano makukuha sa first loan as a ofw may payment contribution is 550 minimum bracket per month almost 2years na po ako naghuhulog,,,gusto ko sana mgloan….tnx
Hi Angela, yes, your aunt can pay the maximum amount. Since she’s an OFW, the deadline is more flexible. She can pay on any day of the month and can pay for any month of the year. She can pay for 2 or more months to save on remittance fees. But if you are the one paying for her in the Philippines, you follow the deadline for locals so you don’t need to show proof that your aunt is an OFW, meaning you pay for the current month within the current month. Yes, she will get a higher pension because she’s contributing the maximum. You can ask your aunt if she also wants to save with SSS Flexi-Fund or with Pag-ibig 1 and MP2 5-year savings scheme.
Hi Ms. Nora. I just want to ask, my Auntie is an Ofw and is paying 1,760 sss contribution monthly as she wanted to get more benefits whe she is ready to retire. She would like to know if it’s okay as an Ofw to pay that certain amount of contribution and that she will benefit more in the future? She is just worried that there is cut off contribution for ofw to pay rather than paying what she wanted. She also would like to ask you if there is a deadline payment for each month or she can just pay any day of the month. Many thanks. Hope to hear from you.
I constantly spent my half an ??ur to re?d this website’? articles or
reviews ?ll the tim? alongg with a cup of coffee.
Hi stephanie, is your expected due in Dec? Sorry but your semester of contingency is July to Dec 2016, so you should have paid last quarter or any quarter within July 2015 to June 2016. But if your due is Jan 2017, you can qualify by paying for July Aug and Sep. Pay for the quarter on or before Sep 30, or you can pay for July within July, Aug within Aug and Sep within Sep.
good day Ms. Nora.. i would like to know if in any way you could provide me of a tabulation of salary range and salary credit. i work in a construction company as an administrative staff.previously, starting march 2015 only 190.80 were considered by the company as monthly deductions for sss and philhealth for workers earning at a daily minimum wage rate (provincial rate) of 316.50. recently, this month of july, everyone was in shock when the company deducted 536.00 for sss and philhealth contributions claiming an increase in salary credit from 2500 to 12,000… was it true? when did the adjustment took effect?
Gud day po…b4 i am a private sch. Teacher. Now im in public as teacher 1…i stopped paying may sss contribution last 2013…now i am 4 months pregnant and planning 2 pay so i can claim 4 maternity benefit…is it still possible po?how much will i pay monthly?i am hiping 4 ur immediate response….thank u…
Hi Erika, I’m also puzzled. Are you sure his monthly contributions were all the same? Maybe he had overtime work last year. Because the SSS loan amount is based on the average of the last 12 monthly salary credits. If he has worked for 36 years or more, the loan amount is doubled.
Anyway, you can check his loan details in his online SSS account. If none yet, he or you can register to get an online SSS account.
Hi Mrs. Nora, last year my husband’s loan amount was 15k. Why now, you’re saying it’s 11 only? he has been paying the same amount of SSS contributions
Hi Donna, with SSS, the lowest monthly salary is 1,000 pesos. If the salary is 700 pesos, he/she is not eligible for SSS membership, based on the SSS law.
If you meant the member worked for only 1 day or 2 days of the month, earning less than 1k, then there would be no SSS deduction.
Hi ms. nora, how much is the contribution if your total salary is less than P1,000.00? let say P700.00
Hi Onin, maybe the text was a mistake? Usually SSS texts only to voluntary and self-employed payors. Besides, your May contribution is yet to be remitted by your employer next month and the collection list is yet to be filed in July. Yes, your SSS deduction is 472.30
“34XXXXXXXX Your contribution payment for Apr 2016 amounting to P550.00 has been posted”
I got this text from SSS last week and I’m about to receive my very first pay at the end of the month. This is my first job and I’m just wondering ‘cos my salary credit is 13,000 and I thought my contribution would only amount to 472.30php. Why does the text say 550php?
Opo may work pa po and same company pa din, oh sorry I mean 399.70 monthly sila.
Hi Erika, if he did not stop working, meaning he continuously paid his loan through his employer, yes, he can renew his loan. Did you mean 381.50 monthly? The salary credit for this is 10,500. His new loan amount will be the average of his last 12 monthly salary credit. It’s times 2 if he has paid at least 72 contributions, minus his loan balance. He can enroll in online SSS so he can check his loan status.
Hi ms.nora I just want to ask po. last year Jan 19 this person filed an SSS loan. almost 1 month po when he got 15k. Can he apply again? and how much? His deduction is 385 monthly.
Hello po ma’am Nora, I am a government employee and chose to have my contribution to SSS as voluntary member amounting to 440 per month though I have a gross income of 27,000 a month. Is it okay if I just pay that amount for 10 years? Would I benefit from it if I chose not to continue paying after 10 years of continuous payment? What particular benefits would I earn?.thank you and more power maam!
Hi, can I decrease my monthly contribution from 1430 tp 1100? I’m an online freelancer by the way. Should I still need to have declaration of earnings to do such?
Hi erika, pay for Jan to Mar asap this March. You can make your payment up to Apr 10 (or up to your deadline), but pay at SSS. Then pay Apr to June anytime during the Apr to June quarter. If you’re able to pay 330 for each month from Jan to June, your maternity benefit will be 6,000.
hi ms.nora may EDD is Oct.14
Hi rommel, do you mean you have already contributed 36 contributions? Or more but less than 72 contributions? if your monthly contribution for the past 12 months is 472.30, your first salary loan will be 13k. Your total interest will be 1,398 and your monthly amortization will be 600. Remember this is only an estimate, as I’m not connected with SSS.
hi mrs nora may I ask how much usually is the amount if it’s a first salary loan? and how much is the interest if my monthly salary is let say 13k a month.thank you
Hi Erika, salary range refers to your monthly salary. For example, if your monthly salary is 4,400, your salary range is 4,250-4,749.99 and your salary credit is 4,500. When SSS computes, it uses the salary credit, not the actual monthly salary. In this example, SSS uses 4,500. Before I compute, when is your expected delivery date?
ms nora what if I make contributions for 5 months before I give birth is 330, how much would be my maternity benefits? How do we compute?
hi ms nora what is salary range and salary credit?
Hi Salomon, since you were previously employed, you can continue paying as Voluntary. You don’t have to file any document to become Voluntary. Just make your payment and check or write Voluntary in your payment slip. You can pay at SSS, Bayad Center or SM Business Center. If you’re younger than 55, you can choose any amount you like to pay. Starting from age 55, you can increase your contribution amount only once by one level per year.
I was previously employed but now I’m self-employed
good day, I want to continue paying my sss monthly contribution as self-employed. Please tell what should I do to do so.
Hi rhea, yes, she can pay in advance. Many OFWs do this to save on remittance fees. But she must keep her receipt because the posting of her monthly contributions on her online SSS account will be done from month to month as each calendar month arrives.
Hi my mother in law to want to advance her monthly contribution for whole year, she is a ofw can she advance it? Thanks.
Hi Heidi, were you employed here before and your employer remitted your contributions to SSS? If yes, that means you already have a Date of Coverage, so you can go ahead and continue paying, this time as OFW. Your family can pay for you (they’ll check OFW in the Transaction Form (if Bayad center) or in the Contributions Payment Return (if at SSS branch). Minimum premium for OFWs is 550.
If this is your first time to pay SSS, meaning you were not employed before or your employer did not pay SSS, download the OW-1 form, fill it up, scan it and then email it to SSS: OFW Registration
Gud day ms. Nora, if i am just to start now paying sss contribution as ofw.. Do i need to fill up another form? Is it true that i can’t have another person to fix my papers? I am now here in ksa… Thanks
Hi Ginalyn, yes, you can pay for your husband. You can pay at Bayad Center or at SSS. If at SSS, ask for Contributions Payment Form. If at Bayad Center, ask for Transaction Form. Check “OFW”. What was the amount of his last premium payment? How old is he now?
Gud noon. Can I be the one to continue paying my husband’s sss because he resigned from his job and became ofw. He’s not able to go out because he’s busy. What’s the process? He worked here for almost 8 yrs. We know he needs to complete 10 years in order to claim complete benefits.
Hi Ed, thanks too! God bless you too!
Thanks a lot, Ms. Nora. At least now I have and idea. Keep on doing great service to our fellow Filipinos. God bless you always. 🙂
Hi ed, no, that’s just your average monthly salary credit (AMSC). The pension formula that will most likely result to the biggest result for you is: 300 + 20% x AMSC + [2% x AMSC x (CYS – 10)]. CYS is your total of credited years of service. I calculated your AMSC, and it’s 14,716.67. But I need to double-check it. Here’s my post on pension computation: https://www.workingpinoy.com/2014/01/how-to-compute-sss-pension/ I emailed you.
Hello, Ms. Nora! Thank you for your reply. Since 2001 to March 2010 my monthly salary credit would fall under the 15,750 – over in the SSS Range of Compensation table, as shown on the SSS website. According to this table my Monthly Salary Credit was 16,000 for all my last 59 contributions as Employee while my last contribution as VM in July 2010 was computed at P13,000; so P16,000 x 59 = P944,000 + 13,000 = P957,000/60 = P15,960. Am I correct? Is this what I am to expect as my pension? Again, thanks a lot and God bless.
Hi ed, it’s good to see you have your records in order. I should have also asked you to list the corresponding salary credits for all your last 60 contributions so I’ll just compute the total, and divide it by 60 to get your average salary credit. Anyway, you can do that, while I do it too, and then we compare our computation.
good day, ms. nora! re the list i sent earlier, you might wonder why there were gaps. well, i tried freelancing/consultancy in 2004 – 2007 and again, made no sss contributions because of my financial obligations as the family’s breadwinner. the gaps in the earlier years were because either the employer did not have me covered during my probation months, or they did not remit my sss contribution while i was at their employ.
thank you again and God bless…
Hi, Ms. Nora. Thank you for your quick reply. Here is the list of my last 60 monthly premiums:
July 2010 – P1,352 as Voluntary Member (1 contribution)
Nov 2007 – March 2010 – P1,560 (29 conts)
2004 – Jan 2004 – April 2004 – P1,410 (4 conts)
2003 – Jan – Feb – P1,260 (2 conts)
2003 – March-Sep plus Oct – P1,410 (8 conts)
2002 – Jan – Dec – P1,260 (12 conts)
2001 – Jan – March – P924 – (3 conts)
2001 – July – P1,008 (1 cont) – (this is actually from July to Dec. but you asked for only the last 60)
My total no. of contributions is 293 and my total contributions is P177,327.70. I hope you can give me an estimate of my pension with this info.
Again, thank you so much for your help. May God continue to bless you.
Hi ed, if you paid the maximum monthly contributions from Apr 2005 to mar 2010, I think you will receive a fairly bigger pension than most because you started paying in 1979 — your no. of credited years of service might reach 29 or 30 or 31. Don’t feel sad you were not able to pay after march 2010 because if you tried to pay but paid lower premiums, it would have reduced your average monthly salary credit. If you can list your last 60 monthly premiums, we can estimate your pension, but if you have your online SSS account, you can check your estimated pension online. God bless too
hi ms. nora. i started working and paying my sss in 1979 until i resigned in march 2010 and changed my membership to voluntary in july of the same year. this was because there was this project that became a one-shot deal instead of what i believed to be a long-term one. i wasn’t able to make any payments after that because i couldn’t afford it anymore. my question is: how will this affect my retirement benefits? i’m due for retirement this month. thank you very much and god bless!
Hi Beth, do you mean sickness, disability or maternity claim? Yes, they accept and screen the documents you submit and then they forward these documents to SSS Diliman for processing.
Do they process claims here in UAE?
Hi Macky, if you paid contributions before as employee, you can pay anytime at SSS or Bayad Center. After your payment is posted, your status as Employed will automatically change to Voluntary. But to be sure that your contributions as employee were remitted, go to SSS and verify your contributions with your SSS ID or 2 IDs if no SSS ID. Fill up verification slip. When verified, you can then pay at the SSS cashier. It’s wise to pay a higher monthly contribution (higher monthly salary credit) than your past contributions. After payment posting, enroll in online SSS so you can track your payments.
Hi gemma, you can increase your pension if you pay the maximum premium over the last 60 months before you turn 60. If your last premium was not maximum, you should start paying the maximum this year or anytime before you turn 55. See this new SSS circular about increasing SSS contributions. The amount of your pension will depend on two factors: the number of years you contributed, and your average salary credit. Obviously, if you have more maximum contributions, specially in the last 60 months, your average salary credit will be higher.
Have you registered in online SSS? If not yet, prepare your last premium payment and look for your transaction no., as you need it when you enroll. After you have successfully enrolled, comment again, so I can guide you on how to get your estimated pension amount.
Hi Ms. Nora, what’s the procedure if I stopped paying SSS contributions for about 7 years and want to continue paying? Thanks
Dear Ms. Nora, good day po, I have 248 total contributions and i am 53 yrs of age, and I’ve stopped paying. what can you advise po, do i need to continue to pay my contribution to maximum? i’m still an agent of insurance. Will my benefits increase if i retire on 60 yrs of age? how much will be my monthly pension. im willing to pay po start this year january,2016 pls. give me an advice what is the best i’m confident not pay previous because I know i’m qualified but i want to know if i can avail higher benefits if I pay 2016 until i reach 60 in 2022? i hope i can received the feed back herewith my e-mail, thank you and god bless
Hello po,
Pano po kaya ang gagawin ko kasi yung payment ng mother ko last pa is 2011, gusto po sana naming I continue.
Papano po kaya yun self employed po sya.
Thanks
Hi,my contribution is only 550 a month.if i will pay more than 10years of contribution.how much my pension if i reach 60 years old.i am
only 41years old now…so far i already paid 6years of my contribution
Please reply
Thank you
I have already made at least 120 monthly payments and I am doing it voluntarily. I am 42 years of age. I am not an OFW. Can I increase my premium payments per quarter to be able to reach the maximum payments soon? Or can I just pay the maximum amount for the whole year and stop afterwards, considering that I have already made at least 120 monthly payments? I am paying 440/month as of the moment.
Thanks ms.nors for the information…
Hi Beth, yes, your payments of 1,595 were valid. Are you younger than 55? No, you don’t need to go to SSS for approval before paying the maximum. Here’s a copy of the new SSS circular stating that members who are younger than 55 can change their monthly contributions frequently without asking permission from SSS. The only restriction is on reducing contribution to lower than 550.
Me and my husband was previously paying the maximum contribution 1,560 pesos from employed to voluntary after we separated from the company but when changing occur in the salary credit january 2014 we just pay the 1,595 monthly contribution….my question is this okay ? If we want to pay the maximum contribution of 1760 do we need to go to sss branch for approval or just paying this amount since before we just paid adjustment on contribution from 1,560 to 1,595 not inform to sss.
Hi Vina, the salary credit of 550 is 5000. These are the formulas for those who contributed for exactly 10 years:
Formula 1: 40% x 5000 = 2000
Formula 2: 300 pesos + (20% x 5000) + 0 (because there’s no excess years after 10 years) = 1300
Formula 3: Minimum pension, which is 1000 as of today.
The pension will be the highest result. The pension is 2,000 pesos.
Good day po, my mama asked me to post this question. How much will be the pension of a voluntary contributor for 10 years, with 550 monthly contributions.
Hi tata, here’s the link to our sister blog: New Policy on Increasing Monthly SSS Contributions
Hi ms Nora, thanks a lot for your response and help. Hoping to receive the link soon…God bless
Hi tata, there’s a new circular regarding increases in SSS contributions. Are you younger than 55? If younger, you can immediately increase your monthly contribution to the maximum (1,760) so you can immediately start saving with Flexi-Fund. Register first with Flexi-Fund using OW1 form. Download it from sss.gov.ph, fill it up, scan it, then attach it to your email to ofw.relations@sss.gov.ph. Attach also a scan of your IDs. will give the link to the circular later
Hi Ms Nora, I am an OFW and had recently restarted my SSS contribution w/c is 780 per month. I would like to increase it to the maximum but they told me to do it gradually. Can I increase my contribution monthly so that in 2 years time or so I can reach the max requirement? I wanted to do this bec I want to avail the flexi fund. Can you pls help to advise. Thank you in advance and God bless.
Hi Merille, the SSS monthly contribution is based on the actual total compensation for the month (basic pay plus overtime, differential, holiday pay, travel allowance, etc.) Monthly contributions are not the same if the total monthly salaries are not the same, like if there are unpaid leaves, absences, etc. and if there’s additional compensation.
Good Day Ms. Nora.
Regarding the monthly salary range for the monthly contribution, Is the basis only the basic pay? not including the allowances? My basic pay with my current employer is P12,500 and if includes allowances it will be P16,000.
and about the contributions, i wonder why my previous employer has different amounts of posted contributions in my sss. Last August 2014 the posted amount of contribution is P1485, Sept P1540, Oct20140-Jan2015 P1760, Feb2015 P1540. my basic pay with my previous employer was P14,000. Is there possible reasons why the posted contributions are all not the same?
Hi Jessie, you continue contributing as voluntary. No, SSS pension is not taxable under Philippine laws.
I have a question on SSS. I am currently living in Honolulu and contributed to it while I was in Philippines for my SSS. Can I continue to pay my SSS contributions so I can qualify for SSS pension? If I do, should I pay under employed, voluntary? Is the SSS pension taxable under Philippine laws? Thank you. Jessie
Hi Haydee, yes, your sibling can pay your SSS contributions as OFWs in your behalf. At Bayad Center, your sibling can pay — fill up the form (your names, SSS nos., check OFW, month paid, date paid). Then you can ask for the transaction no. so you can use it to enroll in online SSS, so you can check your records online.
Hello po, my husband and I previously paid as voluntary members. Now it’s almost 3 years we haven’t paid because we lost our source of income, until we found jobs here abroad. We’re now OFWs. How can we pay the minimum 550 for ofw. can we pay through our sibling as we are abroad and there’s no way to pay here? salamat po
Hi Marjery, pay for Sep to Dec 2015 or Oct to Dec 2015 this September, and then pay for Jan to March 2016 in Jan 2016. It’s better to pay at Philhealth so you can get your updated MDR. Fill up registration form and check For Updating.
Hi po thank you po! what about philhealth? What should I do?
Hi Marjery, pay for this quarter (July Aug Sep) asap, within this month of September, as Voluntary. After your payments are posted, maybe 3 days, file your MAT1. If you can, and if you were paying the maximum contribution before or near the maximum, pay the current maximum. http://sssphilippinesnotes.blogspot.com/2013/07/sss-maternity-benefit-eligible.html
Hi po! Im Marjery Corpuz 33years old. employed po previously till 2012. my contributions were updated while working. I stopped when I resigned. I want to continue because I want to file Mat1. will give birth in March 2016. what should I do to qualify for maternity benefit?
Hi Jane, you have 13 years to contribute before turning 60. Let’s say you increased your contributions for your last 60 months before turning 60 to 550 (salary credit of 5,000). Your pension will be the higher result using these 2 formulas:
1. 300 plus 20% of 5000 plus [(2% of 5000) x (13 years – 10 years)]
300 + 1000 + 300 = 1,600
2. 40% of 5000 = 2000
Your pension will be 2,000 because it is the higher result.
By the way, you should start paying as employed, OFW or self-employed, and not voluntary. How to register with SSS as self-employed
Hi, I am Jane, 47 years old, how much would as my monthly pension i will start my voluntary contribution on 330 pesos. Thank much.
Hi Mark, do you mean you just got your SSS no.? If yes, you cannot start paying as Voluntary member. Your payments will be accepted (because the tellers won’t know if you registered properly) but these will not be valid. You must find a job first, so your employer can report you to SSS and remit your contributions. You can also start with SSS as OFW or self-employed (small business, direct marketer, buy-and-sell, insurance agent, real estate agent, web designer). Before paying, register as self-employed using SSS RS1 form with proof of source of regular income (ORs, sales ORs, sales commission receipts, business permit, etc). How to Register with SSS as Self-Employed
Hi I want to ask if I can pay my monthly Contributions at SM Bayad Centers if I’m still newly registered with SSS. It’s only now I’m starting as Voluntary member. and How much would I pay? i don’t have work yet.
Hi Rachel, sorry, no, you can no longer pay contributions for last year. If this month were still January, you can pay for Oct Nov and Dec 2014. But it’s now September.
As an OFW, what you can pay this month are from Jan to August, if you have not paid.
Hi po. I’m Ofw. last year I wasn’t able to remit contributions. Can I pay for last year’s contributions. and if okay, where can I pay my late contributions?
Hi Sunshine, yes, the previous SSS loan policy was to deduct immediately the interest. About possible overpayment: The loan should be paid within 24 months. Were there months that you missed? And was your paying period more than 24 months? If there were, then just pay the 596 balance before it becomes bigger. Later on, just file your request for a recomputation if you really see an overpayment (better than accumulating additional interests). SSS also says that salary loan overpayments can be added to the subsequent salary loan.
hi po. Will clarify po. I borrowed and received sss check amounting to P17,500 (what I know is I should have received 20,000 but they immediately deducted the interest, is that right?). Then since oct 2012 I’ve been paying P875.00 / month for the loan. Last time I checked, P21,000 was my total payment for the loan but I still have a balance of 596.00. Why is that? Is that not overpayment? Why do I still have a balance?
Maam nag naag apply ako sa contribution doon is 1300…first payment ko po as ofw is 1375…first month…pwede po ba me lipat ng self employed.if lipat me pano po ung nabayaran ko ung 1st month credited po va yon for another month…tnx po..reply pls
Hi luciano, you please email member_relations@sss.gov.ph and write your request. Include your name, SSS no., date of birth, start of pension, amount of pension, bank and account no.
Dear Mrs Nora, I am presently a pensioner. I was employed since march 1976 up to april 2004. I just want to know detailed computation of my monthly pension. Hope to receive your response soonest time possible. Thank you very much. Luciano J. Bartonico
Hi Carolina, there’s a new SSS circular saying that if you’re younger than 55, you can now increase to any amount, and you can change frequently, but not decrease to below 550 (because you’re OFW). If you were not an Employed SSS member before you became OFW, before you pay, it’s best if you go to SSS and verify your date of coverage and your contributions. If you’re abroad, email ofw.relations@sss.gov.ph and inquire about your date of coverage. I’m advising this because of your payment history, and so that you can correct your registration in case there’s a problem.
HI MAM NORA THE AMOUNT I PAID BEFORE IS 3HUNDRED PLUS I WAS NOT AN OFW YET THAT TIME SORRY I CANT REMEMBER THE EXACT AMT. THEN I STOP PAYING MY SSS . AND THE LAST TIME I PAID AGAIN IS IN POEA BRANCH THEY TOLD ME TO PAY I THINK 4 HUNDRED PLUS THEN I STOP PAYING AGAIN. NOW I WANT TO START TO PAY AGAIN . IWANT TO CHANGE MY MONTHLY CONTRIBUTION INSTEAD OF 44O MONTHLY ILL PAY IT 1100 MONTHLY CAN IT BE? NO PROBLEM IF ILL CHANGE MY MONTHLY CONTRIBUTION? DO I HAVE TO FILL UP SOME FORM?
THANKS. WAITING FOR YOUR REPLY
Hello Ms. Nora I have a question what kind of Retirement claim form I need, I’m a Filipino-Canadian and paid my sss by myself as a volunteer. I’m going to be 60 nxt month August and also I paid 120 months. Thanks. LPCalvelo
Hi janine, the minimum SSS monthly salary credit for OFWs is 5,000, and the contribution for this is 550. It means your contribution is valid. If you pay higher contributions, you can claim higher benefits, like maternity benefit.
good day po. I’m ofw. The amount I pay every month to sss is 550. Is this ok even if I don’t comply with the salary range set by SSS? What’s the difference if I comply with the salary range? thanks po
Hi marie, do you mean you were paying 1560 monthly since October 2010? And you thought you were paying for Flexi-Fund? If you were paying 1560 only, I think your payments were posted as regular SSS contributions, and not Flexi-Fund. Why do I think so? Because what SSS does is when it receives payments from OFWs, it gets first the 1560 and credits it to your regular SSS payments, and then the excess, which should be more than 200 pesos, is credited to your Flexi-Fund. You can write ofw.relations@sss.gov.ph and ask your Flexi-Fund balance, so you will know if you have Flexi-Fund. Since 2014, the maximum regular contribution is 1760.
Hi Ma’am Nora…Have a good day!I’m a flexi-fund member since October 2010 untill at present but I have just remitted 1560 monthly contributions before then this time 1,595 pesos.I just asking if can I go back to regular ofw sss member or can I cancel my being flexi-fund member?Do I have any new sss form to fill out upon doing so?Thanks a lot and I highly appreciated your answer.
Hi Olive, I posted your questions and my answers here https://www.workingpinoy.com/2015/06/u-s-citizen-who-will-be-philippine-sss-pensioner/ so more people can read it. Please comment again so I’ll know you’ve come back to visit our blog. Thanks a lot.
Hi Ladya Ann, register as self employed using SSS RS1 form. Bring your ID and SSS no. Show proof of your source of income – it should not be salary or wage, otherwise SSS will tell you to ask your employer to register you as member and pay as employer and employee. It can be sales commission, or profit from your business or payment for your service as individual contractor. How much? You can write your monthly income as 260 * 20 days = 5,200 pesos. Your monthly contribution will be 550 pesos. See the contribution table above.
good day! I wish to contribute to sss as self employed. How much will be my contributions? My work involves only job orders. 260/day. My salary is per month. What documents should I pass 🙂 thanks! have a nice day!
Hi Nica, if you’re in Jeddah, you can go to the Philippine consulate or if in Riyadh, you can go to the Philippine embassy with your iqama and other IDs to register. If you’re far, you can download the OW1 form here: https://sites.google.com/site/informationphilippines/sss-forms/sss-non-working-spouse-record . Fill it up, then scan it, scan also your iqama, or OEC and ID, and then email it to ofw.relations@sss.gov.ph with Subject: OFW Member Registration from KSA. Wait for their reply. You can pay your contributions (minimum is 550 pesos) through Skyfreight, Ventaja, Landbank or Iremit partners. You can pay for more than 1 month to save on remittance fees.
Good day! I’m in saudi right now. How I can start having SSS? Coz I was not able to fix when I was in vacation. I Want to register to have benefits soon. Thank u!
Hi Nora, My name is Olive and I moved to the US when I was 25 years old. I am now 58 years old. I was a scientist there in PI for 3 years…
(Nora: I posted Olive’s questions and my answers here https://www.workingpinoy.com/2015/06/u-s-citizen-who-will-be-philippine-sss-pensioner/ so more people can read it.
Hi Annie, were you employed when you made your past contributions? If yes, your member status now will be Voluntary, not self-employed. Yes, you can continue making contributions as Voluntary even if you did not pay for many years.
If you were not employed before, did you register using the RS-1 self-employed form before paying? If not sure, go first to the nearest SSS and verify your membership and contributions, so you will know if you have a Date of Coverage — this is important.
Hi po. It was in 2008 when I made my last contribution to sss. I plan to continue as self employed. Is that okay that I did not remit for many years?
Hi Sakura, you can claim your pension when you turn 60, even if by that time, you’re already a citizen of another country. You can stop if you decide so. If you opt to continue, I suggest that you pay the same or higher than your past contributions in order to maintain your higher average salary credit
Already made 180 contribution and im in abroad now, should i continue or i can stop na. Also, what if I become citizen of another country, is there an effect on the pension? Thanks.
Greetings!
Sir/Mam,
I just want to ask the procedure and req. to become a member of SSS if the person is working abroad and never been a member eversince? How much will be her monthly contribution if her salary is 35k?
Thank you very much…
hi po mam nora ask ko po meron po bang backpay ang SSS..dahil 78 year old na po ang tatay ko pero nagun lang sya nakatapos ng pagbayad ng kanyang SSS sa voluntary payment, d po ba 60 years old ang magpension so ngaun ang tatay ko is 78 may back po ba?
Hi dionisio, I’m so sad to read your question. It’s been 33 to 34 years! So surely that 900 is now a big amount. I wish you took advantage of one of the condonation programs offered years before. There’s no condonation program right now, and I don’t know when the next one will be. The best is to go to the nearest SSS ASAP and verify your loan balance, and ask for their advise.
mam,i have an educational loan of 900 pesos last 1982 and i dont pay until now.how much it will be now including all penalty.i want to pay it now.mraming slamat po
Hi jason, I answered your question here so more people can read about it: http://www.philippinesqa.com/2015/04/how-much-sss-pension.html
im sorry, correction,i mean had paid sss contribution for 120 months..
Hi Mam Nora. ask lang po ako about my fathers pension kung how much will he get for pension.
My father had paid 120 monthly sss contribution for almost 15 years ago.i dont know how much he paid that time of his employment but lets say the lowest amount to be paid. Now, his 56 years old and start paying sss contribution again last august 2014 after turning the age of 56. He pay 300 pesos per month as self employed because he dont have work already.. How much pension would he get at the age of 60.???
thanks in advance for your reply,,::))
Hi Mam nor ask ko lng po 60 months na po ako nagbabayad sa SSS 38 years old na po ako ngayon ofw po ako kung i continue ko po ang pagbabayad ng 550 pesos a month until my 60 years old then i paying maximum contribution for 5 years bago ko mag retire magkno po ang magging pension nito ask po ako ng favor kung papaano mag compute tnx po
Hi Juvy, if you’re 53 now, and you retire at age 60, you can start increasing your monthly contributions by 2 levels each month till you get to the maximum. Paying the maximum for the last 5 years (60 months) before retirement will be most cost-effective. About pension amount: Let’s say the maximum salary credit by the time of your retirement is still 16k and you’ve contributed for 12 years and your average monthly salary credit is 16k, SSS will compute using 2 to 4 formulas and the highest result will be your pension. In your case, the formula 40% of AMSC will result to 16k x 40% = 6400 pesos. The other relevant formula (300 + 20% of AMSC + 2% of AMSC x no. of years in excess of 10) will result in a lower amount: 4,140. The first result is higher so your pension will be 6400 pesos. Ask others too. I’m glad you’re properly registered; I asked because there have been many here who lost credited years because of not registering properly before paying, with some having no more time to correct their mistake.
Hello Nora, thank you for your reply, yes i am registered i also have the new ID just got it last year when i was in the Philippines i think i start last quarter of 2010 and every month its automatic deduction from my bank account because i registered it too. and its 550 now i guess. if i ask or apply for like maximum monthly? my pension will be higher too example 10 years from now? thanks juvy
Hi Juvy, I’ll estimate your pension later. I ask first if you registered using RS1 form before starting to pay in 2010 and was it approved and stamped by SSS? Do you have a Date of Coverage? I’m asking so we can be sure that you registered properly.
hello, i was a member of SSS but just start paying as self employed year 2010. i was already 48 years old, when i turned 65 and i want to have my pension how much will i get monthly? my monthly contribution is 520 pesos. Thank you. juvy
Hi Toni Rose, did you register with SSS using RS1 form before you paid as self-employed? If not sure, before you come home for good, you should register as OFW while you’re there abroad because it’s easier to get approval if you’re abroad. If you’re in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, there’s an SSS office at the consulate or embassy there, you can register there as OFW member. If not, you can download this SSS OW-1 form, print it, fill it up and send by postal mail with a copy of your IDs to the SSS address on the form.
When you continue paying here, after being OFW, your member status changes to Voluntary.
Hi Mrs Nora, i used to pay my SSS contribution as self employed but was not able to continue paying since I started working here in UAE. I wonder how much will I pay now and do I need to inform sss that I am paying as an ofw. And if so when I go back to the Philippines am I allowed to pay as self employed again? Because I will not go back here again. Thank you 🙂
Hi Maricelcalunsod, there are not many remittance firms in Thailand. If you can open a Metrobank OFW savings account (no maintaining balance, but remit to it from abroad at least once a year) asap and then enroll it in internet banking asap, and activate it here in the Phils asap, before leaving, you can pay your SSS through Metrobank online banking.
From employed to voluntary, how to pay my contribution if ever I’ll be an ofw in Thailand.is there any agency in thailand that I could pay my contribution in order to continue my remittances?
Hi joel, are you in Doha? There’s an SSS desk in Doha. Philippine Overseas Labor Office, corner Al Furat St., 960 & Al Qaisoum St. 827 Onaiza Area, Doha. Phone: (974) 448-78599 / Mobile No. (974) 661-43076 / Email: sssdohaqatar129@gmail.com / Representative: Michael D. Ingal. If you’re far from Doha, you can email your authorization letter to your representative in the Phils to verify your SSS no. and date of coverage (DOC) for you. Scan your passport or Qatar ID plus any other ID. If you have no Date of Coverage (meaning you never paid SSS through an employer in the past), after knowing your SSS no., you download this SSS OW-1 form, accomplish 2 copies, then send them with a copy of your passport or Qatar ID to SSS through postal mail (address is on the form) or email ofw.relations@sss.gov.ph or member_relations@sss.gov.ph
hi im joel maningas from qatar, I want to pay contributions to SSS while I’m here in Qatar, but when I had my account verified in the Phils, they required my ID. I don’t have SSS ID so how can I verify my account? I forgot my SSS number. i hope you can help me thanks
Hi marenie, since you were not reported by your former employer, you cannot contribute as Voluntary; you should register as self-employed, so you will get a Date of Coverage — this date is important. Submit RS1 form including your ID and proof of your source of income. This is how to register as self-employed member of SSS
Hi! good day. year 2005 I was a member of sss, since it was a requirement for work. last year I inquired at sss tacloban what was the status of my account, but they said I don’t have any posted contribution, not even one. Now I want to contribute as voluntary. Is that allowed? What should I do? Thanks
Hi S. Garrett, I googled “free payroll software philippines”, and I saw sweldista.com. You can explore it. You can also see 30-day or 60-day free-trial payroll software for small businesses.
Hi mary jane, since you’ll pay for only 10 years, your pension will most likely be 6,000 pesos, which is 40% of 15,000 = 6,000 pesos (40% of your average salary credit)
Hi Nora, Why can a person not find a Excel program anywhere on line to calculate the SSS, withholding,Pag-Ibig & Phil-Health contribution rates based upon the required information entered. This program should be provided by the government. If not a consolidated program for all the different taxes, at least one for each of the required taxes. Please direct if you know of a source? Thanks M. Garrtt
Hello good day po sir I would like to ask how much will be my monthly pension if I reached my 60 years of age if now i have contribution of 1650 monthly if I completed my 120 contributions I hope you relpy as soon as possible tnx a lot…
Hi Marilou, send your request to SSS: member_relations@sss.gov.ph About benefits: yes, the formula for computing benefits for employed and voluntary members is the same. Benefits depend on average salary credits and total no. of credited years
hello ! i just want to ask if i can get another email address for me to access online because i can no longer remember my email add as well as my password since that email add is not use most of the time and i was not able to note it. or can you send my info on my email add and password to this email address @ loudavao@yahoo.com.
another question is -is the sss memeber’s benefit the same for employed and voluntary members ?
thanks
Hi Raquel, yes, she can register as self-employed. She needs to show proof of her source of income. Here’s one of our posts on self-employed registration with SSS.
Hello,Good day, i just wanna ask because my mother dont have yet SSS account, its not a member yet in SSS ever since, and I would like to open for her own SSS account,She is now 52 years old.Since it says here the pensioner is only the age of 60-65 years old,is my Mother can still open Her own SSS account at her age? and how much does she could contribute up to the age of pensioner too.Thank you so much and have a good day.
Hi Benjamin, this will be just an estimate, as I don’t have all the data. We’ll use the formula 300 pesos plus 20% of Average Monthly Salary Credit plus 2% of AMSC x Credited Years of Service in excess of 10.
Assuming that you paid the maximum until Oct 2014, then your total MSC will be 50 months x 15k + 10 months x 16k = 750k + 160k = 910k
Your average MSC will be 910k/60 months = 15,167 pesos
300 + 20% of 15167 + (2% of 15167) x (38-10)
300 + 3033.40 + 303.34 x 28
300 + 3033.40 + 8493.52
11,826.92 pesos
Your estimated pension is 11,826.92 pesos. Please remember this is just an estimate.
May I please ask that, if you have the time, to please inform us of your actual pension amount later on. I just want to know if my computations are correct, or if SSS includes other factors to compute. Thank you very much.
I just retired October 31,2014. I am a member since 1976 and been paying the Maximum contribution since 1992. Can you help me in calculating my suppose to be pension pay. I filled my SSS claim last November 6, 2014. Thank you and God Bless.
Hi precila, go to the nearest SSS branch, and verify your SSS no. and contributions. Ask the guard for a verification slip. If your records show there were contributions, that means you were properly registered, so you can start paying. Just fill up RS5 form, or you can pay at Bayad Center. You can increase your contributions by 2 brackets at a time.
Hello, when I was single, I worked for some months. My employer made SSS deductions, but I’m not sure if these were remitted to SSS. I want to continue paying, but I don’t remember my SSS no. What should I do? God bless!
Hi gaith, sorry I’m not sure. The SSS desk office at Robinsons Malolos is open on Saturdays. Ask others too
Good day, may I know if SSS Malolos branch is open on Saturday? For we have to check my mother’s contribution and status of her previous loan.thank you
Hi myra, lumpsum means one time payment. If from SSS, it’s one time payment of benefit through a check.
hello may i ask the meaning of lumpsum?
Hi Kyle, we posted here our response to your question, so more people can read. Settle Your SSS Contribution Underpayments
Hello. I’ve been paying the amount of 1560 ever since, and I didn’t know about this update on the contribution table until now. I only found out when I noticed only the amount of 1540 is posted in my SSS account since January. What happened to the 20 peso difference I’ve been remitting then? What should I do to have those credited?
Hi JOEL, you can go to SSS if you’re here in the Phils and verify your contributions or you can register at sss.gov.ph so you can check your contributions. To register, you need your latest payment transaction no., so ask someone in the Phils to pay your contribution (1 month or more) for you at SSS, and to send you the RS5 transaction no./OR no. then after 3 to 5 days when your payment is posted, you register online.
Hi Cel, when your first submitted your OW1, you checked “Regular” and not “Flexi-Fund”? If yes, then submit your OW1 again and check “Flexi-Fund” so your Flexi-account will be set up first before you pay your first more-than-1760 contribution. If you’re far from a Philippine consulate with an SSS office, download the OW1 form, sign it and mail it to:
International Operations Division
3/F SSS Building, East Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City
1100 Philippines
Hi Nora,
I am an OFW and already accomplished the OW1 however I am not enrolled for flexi fund which I want to apply now. Do I have to accomplish it or Will it be automatically considered once I pay in excess of the max contribution? thanks
Hi Ramon, yes, apply for your Lifetime Philhealth card at the nearest Philhealth card. Documents to bring: http://www.philhealth.gov.ph/members/lifetime/registration.html
Hi!
I am a pensioner for about 3 years. Can I claim for the Lifetime Benefit of Philhealth?
Hi Leticia, based on the formula, his pension would be 40% of 15k which is 6k. But he’s only 24; there are 36 more years before he turns 60. Salary credits will increase, and his contributions will change. If he has a lot of higher or maximum contributions especially in his 50s, and higher no. of years, then his pension will increase.
Good day! tanong ko lang po kung magkano ang magiging pension ng anak ko at the age of 60 kung ang contribution nya monthly ay 1.650 for ten years. Twenty four years old po sya nagstart magbayad, Thanak you po.
Hi excelen, if you’re near the Phil consul in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, you can fill up the OW-1 form there. If not, you can download the SSS OW-1 form and email to member_relations@sss.gov.ph (Subject: Attention: International Affairs Office). Since you were already a paying member before, you can already pay your contribution from abroad (IRemit, Ventaja, etc.) and check your status as OFW. You can also ask someone in the Phils to pay for you (ask him to check OFW; payment is accepted as long as you pay before the deadline for Individual Payors). After your payment is posted, ask for the transaction no. and register at sss.gov.ph so you can track your SSS records.
gudpm! my previous status as of april 2014 is employed, i started working here in uae last month. How can i change my status to ofw and my contribution amount. tnx.
Hi Juvy, in the E1 form, it says that passport is also accepted as a primary document, so your husband can apply. He can submit an Affidavit of Source of Income.
He should start as Self-Employed using RS-1 form because this is his first time. He cannot be Voluntary because he was not previously an Employed member. A Voluntary is someone who has been a paying member previously.
Thank you for the response. Ano po pwedeng proof of income?
Another question, mas ok po ba mag voluntary kesa self-employed?
Thanks po ulet 🙂
Hi rodelieta, did you register using OW-1 form before paying your first contribution? If not, while you’re here, go to SSS and verify your membership status and check if you have a Date of Coverage (DOC). Bring your ID/passport and any proof of your being an OFW, so you can file your OW-1 form in case you don’t have a DOC. If you find that you have a DOC, you can pay for July or July to Sep (3rd quarter). There are SSS payment deadlines; you can no longer pay for past years.
You can continue to pay 880 even if your salary increases. Register at sss.gov.ph so you can check your payments while abroad. Open a Bancnet-member bank so you can pay your SSS online.
Hi Juvy, first, your husband should apply for his SSS no. by submitting a filled-up E1 form and his birth certificate or baptismal cert or passport (orig and xerox). He must also bring your marriage cert in case his citizenship or residency is questioned. After getting his number, he applies as Self-Employed by submitting a filled-up RS1 form and proof of source of income. Other instructions: http://sssphilippinesnotes.blogspot.com/2013/02/how-to-be-self-employed-sss-member.html
Hello po!
Paano po kung padecrease yung icocontribute like current contribution is maximum but will decrease it next month to say 104? Do I get it right to just pay with RS5 form to declare the income?
Whats the difference between voluntary and self-employed in terms of benefits claim and contribution payments? Thanks!!
Hello! If pwede din yung husband ko, what are the requirements? Thanks!
Hi Emy, I wrote a post so more people can see. https://www.workingpinoy.com/2014/07/how-much-is-sss-pension/
I wrote 770 because the additional 10 pesos is for EC.
Hi rachel, your father’s pension will depend on his average monthly salary credit and his credited no. of years. SSS Pension Computation
Yes, his Jan to June pensions will be credited to his bank account in lump sum
hi ms. nora, member ang father ko since may 1972 date coverage. 60 years old na sya Jan 2014. nag inquire sya sa sss kung how much na total contibution nya, total contri = P2,837,122.19
how much po dapat ang pension nya monthly?
another question, january 2014 pa sya nag 60, di naasikaso ang nso birth cert nya, last may lang sya nakakuha at nagpasa sa sss, makukuha pa po ba nya pension from january to june 2014?
Hi Mylene, did your past employer reported you to SSS and remitted your contributions? If yes, you can continue paying your contributions as Voluntary without filing any other document. If you’re not sure of your past contributions, go to your SSS branch with any valid ID, and verify your contributions. After paying as Voluntary, register at sss.gov.ph so you can track your records.
Hi Genaro, yes, your mother can pay for you. She can pay at Bayad Center, SM Business Center or at SSS. The SSS form is ML1, or the Bayad Center form. She’ll write your SSS no., your name, address, and amount and she can sign her name as your representative. Then later on check your loan payment/loan balance through your online SSS account.
Thank you po in advance.
Hi Janice, sorry you can no longer pay for 2013 and the 1st quarter of 2014. SSS payment deadlines
Hi Ma’am, ask ko lang kc 2010 member nako ng SSS then end contract ako ng june 2013. july to sep 2013 nag voluntary contribution nalang ako. tpos naka pag work ako ulit ng 2014 pero di ako nakaltas for contribution..this june palang po. ask ko po sana kung pwede kong bayaran yung arrears ko nung oct-dec 2013 at jan-may 2014? ano pong i dedeclare ko sa jan-may 2014 self employed po ba or voluntary narin? thanks!
Hi kelvin, register as self-employed using RS1 form plus your proof of source of income, then if approved, you can pay for 1 month. But based on comments online, you need to pay 3 contributions and you wait for at least 3 months to get a Date of Coverage and the approval to apply for your ID. Ask others too.
good day po ask ko lng po maam if obligado po b mg hulog ng 3 months advance s sss s pgkuha ng umid for taiwan po? wala p po kase kong sss pwede po b mgcontribute muna ko ng 1 month pg ngparegister ako s sss para makakuha po ako ng umid?
Hi Cindy, before applying for your SSS ID, you must first have at least 1 posted contribution, and you must have a Date of Coverage, meaning your employer has remitted at least 1 contribution or you have paid your first contributions as self-employed with approved RS1 form.
Ask ko lng po if pwede po ba apply agad for sss id kahit di pa me nag start mag pay sa contribution ko. Bali my E1 form na me at nabigyan na din me ng ss number.
Hi pehm, you can pay for Jan 2014 to May 2014 or the next months. You can no longer pay for months in 2013. If today were still Jan 2014, then you could have paid for Oct to Dec 2013, but it’s already May.
hi. i just want to ask if possible po ba na bayaran ko yung past whole year na di ko na hulugan kasi ofw ako ngayon.. thanks po
Hi dyna, since you were previously employed, you continue paying as Voluntary. You can no longer pay previous years. You can pay current month or current quarter at Bayad Center/SM Business Center/SSS. After paying (wait for 3 to 5 days), enroll at sss.gov.ph so you can check if your Date of Coverage is 1997. Comment again here if your date of coverage is a later year (did you register using RS1 form in 1997?).
If your overall no. of contributions is 36, with 6 contributions paid within the past 12 months, then you can apply for a salary loan. Can be online application.
By the way, Mick, read No.4 instruction of the RS5 payment form about increasing contributions: SSS RS5 payment form
Hi mick, I don’t have your SSS data, so what I can say is that you can maximize your pension by contributing the maximum monthly contribution (1,760 pesos) for these last 3 years before you retire. The goal here is to move up your average monthly salary credit (AMSC) nearer to the maximum which is 16k pesos because pension would be based on AMSC.
Your pension would be the higher of these 2 results:
1. Pension = 40% of AMSC. Example: 40% of 15k pesos = 6k pesos (if AMSC is 15k).
2. Pension = 300 pesos plus 20% of AMSC plus 2% of AMSC x no. of years na sobra sa 10.
There are 2 AMSC formulas, but usually the higher AMSC is the average of the last 60 salary credits immediately before semester of retirement.
Hi,Nora. How much should my sss monthly voluntary contribution be for me to receive P10th monthly pension when i retire at 60 yrs old. Now, I’m 57 yrs old.Thank you.
Hi Jin, yes, puedeng gumamit ng at least 2 secondary documents, pero ang makukuha niya is temporary SSS no. Kelangan nio pa ring mag-submit later on ng original birth cert para maging permanent ang SSS no. Puedeng magpa-late registration ang mother mo sa local civil registrar para magkaroon ng birth cert. She brings marriage cert, affidavit of two disinterested persons, other proofs of birth.
Hi.
Hi belle, you can apply for ID replacement only when you get back here in the Phils. Just present your notarized Affidavit of Loss of SSS ID, 2 other valid IDs and 350 pesos at any SSS branch with SSS ID photo system. Do you have a Bancnet-linked bank account in the Phils? You can pay SSS online through Bancnet. If you have a Mastercard or Visa credit card, you can pay SSS through PayPilipinas. After your payment is posted (about 5 days), register at sss.gov.ph (you need 6 digits na tabi-tabi from your transaction no.) so you can track your SSS data. IRemit, PNB, Ventaja are SSS collectors but they don’t have yet outlets in South Australia.
Hi,
Salamat.
Belle
Hi Jen, yes, puedeng ikaw. Choose her monthly contribution. Then pay at Bayad Center or SM Center (RS5 form or yong kanilang form). Write Voluntary. Puede rin sa SSS. Fill up RS5 form. After 2 to 3 days (to allow for posting), register your mother online at sss.gov.ph. You will use 6 digits from your transaction no. Check if your mother has a Date of Coverage — this is important. If your mother wants to change her status to OFW (so she can save via Flexi-Fund), ask her to download OW1 form from sss.gov.ph and then scan and email it to sss.
Fill up verification slip (date of birth, birthplace, etc). If you’re verifying for another person, get an authorization letter and her/his ID.
hi po, gusto ko pong malaman kung pwede ba gamitin yng bagong UMID I.D. sa SSS kasi po may ngpapa continue nang SSS contribution niya pero nakalimutan po niya or di na niya mahagilap yung mismong SSS I.D. number po niya for reference kung sakali..pwede po ba yun? pano bo ba? salamat po.
Hi Kate, yes, you can continue contributing as Voluntary. If you decrease from 1760 by more than 2 levels, sa SSS ka muna unang magbayad para maka-fill-up ka sa RS5 form. Fill up the Declaration of Earnings sa lower portion of the form, i-match mo yong earnings mo sa contribution na gusto mo, and then pay. Keep this form in your files. Mas malamang na ang average salary credit for the last 5 years immediately before semester of retirement ay higher than the overall average salary credit.
For next payments, puede na sa Bayad Center or SM Business Center.
Hi nilda, if you increase by 1 or 2 levels, just pay the increased premium, there’s no need to ask permission from SSS. You can increase by 1 or 2 levels from month to month. Pag gusto mong increase by more than 2 levels, use RS5 form and fill up the Declaration of Earnings at the lower portion of the form.
See this chart: http://www.sss.gov.ph/sss/uploaded_images/publications/Advisory_on_Contri_Underpayments.pdf
Register online so you can see how your contributions are posted and you can see if you have a Date of Coverage.
hi again,sa i remitt dto ako ngbabayad at ibig mo sabhin ay basta i change ko to max ng hinde ako punta or to see any sss representative
Hi Mil, since OFW naman ang member status mo, okay na, kasi sa remittance companies abroad ay hindi gumagamit ng RS5 form para masulatan mo sana yong Declaration of Earnings. Have you enrolled with SSS online? So you can check your member status and how your payments are credited and if you have a Date of Coverage.
Nors, I am an OFW, before ay naghuhulog po ako ng 312, then nag change status po ako from SE to OFW sa SSS branch, then bigla ko po tinaasan ang hulog ko from 312 to 1,300, then lately ay ginawa ko na po itong 1,760 na walng pasabi sa SSS, basta nilagay ko na lang na 1,760, but my status ay OFW, credit po kaya yung hulog ko without any questions?
Hi amelia, the maximum contribution now, starting Jan 2014, is 1,760 per month. You’re right in choosing to pay the maximum contribution. The higher the contributions in the last 5 years prior to retirement, the higher the pension.
Hi ,additional sa questions ko,i will be 58yrs old this year ,so 2 yrs to go will be 60 and retiring age from my work also ,what u will advice for my contribution?
Hi po ,asked previous paying maximum 1560/month ,now i am due for my quarterly this coming april 10,2014 ,for Jan,Feb,March contribution 2014 and for the new table i dont know which is ? please reply soon
Hi jasmin, yes, use your SSS number when you were employed. You must have only one SSS no. On the RS5 payment form, check Voluntary. After ma-post ang payment mo, register with SSS online, so you can track your records. To register, you use 6 digits from your payment OR transaction no.
Hi nilda, yes, you can increase or decrease by 1 or 2 levels at a time. Puedeng this March ay 550 then sa April ay 605, then sa May ay 660 then sa June ay 715 until you reach yong gusto mong amount. Enroll in online SSS so you can track your records
hi good afternoon,
Thank you.
Before, employed po ako and if i remember right nasa 700 na po ang monthly contribution ko. After I resigned nag voluntary po ako, since wala akong steady income i decided to contribute 520. Ano po ba ang maganda kong gawin. Thanks.
Hi soc, sorry wala ako. If I have time, I might look for it. To estimate your salary credit in 1998, i-divide mo yong contribution mo by 8.4%. Halimbawa, 672 ang contribution mo: 672 / .084 = 8,000, so 8k ang salary credit mo noon. Ang maximum salary credit in 1998 was 11k.
Starting Jan this year, 11% of salary credit na ang contribution.
Good PM po.
Hi Taboy, do you mean you were paying more than the maximum, which was 1560 until Dec 2013, and 1760 starting Jan 2014? If yes and if you enrolled in the SSS Flexi-Fund and if each excess was at least 200 pesos, the excess should have been credited to your Flexi-Fund. Are you enrolled with online SSS? Do you see that your contributions are posted? With the excess deducted? If not yet enrolled, register at sss.gov.ph to check how your contributions are being posted. When a number is asked during registration, choose 6 digits from your transaction no. Comment again so I can make suggestions depending on your response.
What if I have been contributing every month over the allowed amount. What happen to the excess contributions. Can i claim it back? What will be the procedure.
Hi teresita, are you turning 60 years old in Dec 2014? If you qualify for pension, then you will get pension, and not lumpsum. Since you said that you paid 1560 for the last 5 years (assuming you’re retiring after these 5 years), and you paid for exactly 10 years, then your average monthly salary credit is 15k. Your monthly pension will be 40% of average monthly salary credit = 40% x 15k = 6k
For the last 5 years I paid P18720.00 a year to complete the 120 months requirement to avail of the sss pension. How much should I receive in lump sum after December 2014
Hi lourdes, that’s a wise decision. Check your loan balance in your online SSS account. Usually, the loan balance is not updated immediately, even if your latest loan payment has been posted already. But at least, the loan balance there will give you an idea.
hello po.. ask ko lng if I can pay may sss salary loan in advance as in fully paid. Bale naaproved po loan ko nung august 28, 2013 @ 28,000.00 and then ung deduction nagstart nung october 1, naiinip po ako kase matagl ung 2 years tapos my interst pa eh nagkaron naman po extra money to pay para buo n yung salary ko na marersiv monthly. Pano po kaya ang computation ng interest nun at magkano po kaya total ng babayadan ko para dun sa loan balance. thank you so much po.
Hi maricar, your semester of delivery is Oct 2013 to Mar2014, so ang 12-month period na titingnan ng SSS ang 6 highest salary credits mo ay within Oct 2012 to Sep 2013.
July 2010 to October 2010
November 2010 to April 2011
July 2011 to June 2012
February 2013 to April 2013
Hi Christine, yes, you can continue paying your contributions. Choose your contribution amount, then go to Bayad Center or SSS to pay using RS5 form. Check “Voluntary” sa Type of Payor. Enroll in online SSS so you can track your SSS data. https://www.workingpinoy.com/2013/10/sss-online-registration/
Hi juliet, thank you very much for appreciating my blog. Means a lot. About your Philhealth: Your father can only be your dependent if he’s 60 years old or older. If he is and if your Philhealth member data was not yet updated, email your father a copy of your OEC, a copy of your ID and your birth cert so he can show these docs when needed. For OFWs, Philhealth coverage is within one year from date of premium payment — dates are in your OEC Philhealth receipt. About Pag-ibig: Do you already have a Pag-ibig MID no.? If not yet, this is how to get your Pag-ibig MID no. Pag meron ka nang Pag-ibig MID, you can pay your contributions sa IRemit remittance partners diyan like Al Ghurair Exchange, Al Neel, Al Nebal or Alukkas. Take care and continue to be strong for yourself and your family

Hi Grace, ang basis ay yong nga actual salary credits noong 1986 to 1998. I-add lahat lahat ng salary credits and then divide by no. of contributions, para makuha yong average monthly salary credit (AMSC). Kung ang AMSC ng member sa last 60 months bago retirement ay mas mataas, then ito ang gagamiting AMSC sa computation.
Kung gusto ng member, puede niyang kunin in advance yong first 18 monthly pensions (lump sum), and then after 18 months, mag-umpisa na yong monthly pension.
Please comment again if you see a possible error. Not much time to cross-check. Happy new 2014
Hi Arturo, your question requires a longer answer, so to benefit others, I’ll answer your question by a post, so please wait.
I’m 61 years old now and receiving my monthly pension. But it seems to me my pension is small to what it should be. I have been an SSS member since 1970. I went abroad from 1988 to 2006 and continued paying my SSS monthly contribution as a voluntary member and self-employed. Paid the maximum monthly contribution for about fourteen months before retiring. It was a gradual increased in monthly contribution. Please educate me on how to calculate my monthly pension. Thanks…
Hi Ferdinand, puede kang mag-increase sa maximum na 1760 kung gusto mo (siguro naman ay more than 15,750 ang monthly salary mo dahil OFW ka). Ang gawin mo lang is fill-up the Declaration of Earnings sa RS5 form. Check the SSS contribution table above and then choose your monthly contribution. Check the corresponding salary credit — that’s what you will write in the Declaration of Earnings. If you don’t like filling up the Declaration of Earnings, increase your contribution by 2 brackets at a time. For Jan 2014, pay 660, then 770 in Feb, then 880 in Mar and 990 in Apr, until you reach the amount you prefer.
Dear Sir/Maam,
Member po ako ng SSS as self employed OFW naghuhulog po ako ng 520 pesos monthly then natigil po sa paghuhulog last August 2013 then gusto kupo uli ituloy ang paghuhulog and gusto kurin taasan ang contribution, magkano po puede ko ihulog?
Thank you,
Ferdinand
Hi Ebbah, meron kasing rule na you should declare your earnings in the RS5 form if you decrease your salary credit to less than 5k.
Sa Bayad Center, SM Business Center or SSS branch. Gamitin lang niya ang RS5 form. https://sites.google.com/site/informationphilippines/sss-forms/contributions-payment-return . Provide him the details. Check niya muna Voluntary. If you like to change your status to OFW, download OW1 form https://sites.google.com/site/informationphilippines/sss-forms/overseas-worker-record and then send to the address found in the Instructions. Online SSS Registration
Hi..happy new year!
Hi vanny, the new contribution table will not affect your claim. SSS will compute your benefits by checking your 6 highest contributions within July 2012 to June 2013
Hi ms.nora, I gave birth last dec. 17 and i will file my maternity claim this january. My concern is, will this new contribution table will apply in my maternity claim? Thanks!
Hi sheila, he should visit the nearest SSS with his ID and verify his contributions. If he had previous contributions and he has a Date of Coverage, he can continue paying as Voluntary member using RS5 form. If he had zero contributions and no Date of Coverage, he needs to register as self-employed (with proof of source of income) and then start paying.
Hi Maryflor, your mother can start paying this quarter, Oct to Dec 2013. Choose from the old table. https://www.workingpinoy.com/2012/02/sss-contribution-table-philippines/ Starting Jan 2014, choose from the table 2014 above. For her first payment, use RS5 form and declare her income that matches her contribution. Keep this RS5 form. If you like to increase later on, increase by 1 or 2 brackets only so you don’t need to declare her income. After payment, register her online so you can check if she has a Date of Coverage; this date is very important. https://www.workingpinoy.com/2013/10/sss-online-registration/
Call SSS sana pero bihira naman daw ang sinasagot, but you try. Or you can go to the branch where you filed your claim. I hope you get it before November ends.
Hello po mam, ask ko lang…magkano n po kaya ang bracket n ibabayad ng mother ko this year 2013? self employed po siya and last payment niya was August 2005 pa. Gusto niya sana ipatuloy na ngayon ang pagbabayad, magkano n po kaya babayaran niya monthly and kelan po ba siya magsisimula?what month. Thank You Po.
Thank for response
Hi Janice, since you’re not sure if your employer remitted your contributions, it’s important that you download the OW1 form https://sites.google.com/site/informationphilippines/sss-forms/overseas-worker-record, fill up and sign and send to the SSS address written on the Instructions portion. If it takes a long time for SSS to respond, ask someone in the Phils to verify with SSS if you have contributions (email that someone a scan of your ID and authorization letter). If you had contributions, that means you’ve been properly registered, and you can continue to pay. Your rep can pay for you for 1 contribution, then send you the transaction no. and then enroll in online SSS so you can track your SSS data. https://www.workingpinoy.com/2013/10/sss-online-registration/ https://www.workingpinoy.com/2013/10/sss-contribution-table-self-employed-voluntary-ofws/
