Assets of 34 Life Insurance Companies in the Philippines as of December 2010

Twenty-three life insurance companies in the Philippines surpassed the one-billion mark in total assets as of December 2010, according to data released by the Insurance Commission in August 2011.

The biggest life insurance company — Philam Life or Philippine American Life and General Insurance Company — accounts for 27.4% of the total assets of the Philippine life insurance industry. Together, the three top life insurance companies — Philam Life, Sunlife and Insular Life — accounts for 60.63% of the life insurance sector’s total assets as of December 2010.
